I think it's fair to assume that most everyone is at least a little worn out on mech packs. We've gotten to a point where new and different mechs are hard to come by. Sadly, Pgi has been quite dependent on mech packs for serious income for long while now.

With that in mind, what alternatives would you like to see Pgi offer instead of mech packs?

I have two options I'd like.

1st. PvE campaign Co-op/Solo
I like mechwarrior games, I would like to play them in a single player setting. I enjoy the story and being immersed in it. I love playing with my friends but I'd also like to capture the story/immersion part of the experience.

Assuming a successful Steam launch, It'd be a good thing to get sometime after that so as to not murder the ques.

2nd. Customization, Custom geometry, Decals, Custom Mech Hangers, Custom HUD, Sound/Music packs, etc.

I'd like PvE, Custom geo & Decals the most. Everything else would be tasty gravy.

Also, check out Elizander's idea.

Subscription thread & poll.

These are what I'd like to see, perhaps some of you could come up with more ideas.

I would not mind alternatives, but I like the Urbie/Marauder/Warhammer type Mechpack model.

The 3-4 a year jumbo packs...those I can do without.

I like the weapon prototype idea so let me expand on it. What if that these prototypes will be basically triple the price of the finished product and be priced with MC?

Let me elaborate say that the finished product was 50000 C-bills but its prototype would be 3x the price of C-bills then it would be 150000 C-Bills but it would also be priced with MC. Anyone get what I trying to suggest?

I would like them sell custom geometry using the same setup they do for mechs. Start out with concept art and a release date and have an incentive for people to preorder. That would also give them an idea of how much demand there is so they can decide how much time they can afford to divert from mech-packs.

I am not interested in the mech packs. I would, however, be interested in fixing up some of the older mechs, assuming they don't screw them up or add silly things like bow-ties and monocles.

I get what you're saying. You're suggesting a high Cbill price whilst also having it go for MC.

For myself, I'd like it, but I don't think it'd be fair. It'd be like offering premium time for Cbills.

I don't think it'd happen that way.

I can see selling a stand alone campaign packs for MC / cash only. The one advantage is maps made for that could be used for either the usual game queue or CW. And/or existing maps such as Alpine Peaks and Tourmaline could be used in such campaigns.

EDIT: I would be willing to buy such a or two campaign.

A PvE campaign really is what I'd most desire in game. It might not be the easiest to implement but I'd love it.

I would pay mucho dinero for PvE (Single player, co-op, campaign and/or instanced battles).
It's actually quite scary how much money I would spend for this.

A pack sponsoring A single player campaign one for each major house.

A combined arms Tank pack. Yes tanks, they could use assets from the PVE campaign and introduce combined arms.

A helicopter pack.

Fancy cockpit / Avatar dress room for pilots who want to swap their faction flags for forum avatar pictures, which inevitable leads to...

Pilot customization, which can be earned (albeit expensive for Cbills), but relatively cheaply for MC.

New minis, like seriously, I feel this one is just obvious? What's the hold up here?

Hard material items. Hats, shirts, badges, belts etc.

New mech voice replacement. Add a male version, or a robot version. Or a female German robot voice for Steiner one. A Japanese woman one for Kuritan pilots. A manly Chinese one for Liao etc. Just get the translations right or you're going to have angry Chinese, Germans, Japanese and Russians.

C'mon PGI make my mechs Asian!

15,00 per month, gives you:

-Premium time
-Badge
-10% off all Cbills prices
-Chances to win mechs/camos every month

And ban, PGI have now a steady cash flow and can go easy on mech megapacks...

How about they just make some new freakin' maps... and not just re-do the old maps, but new, kickass, fun maps.

perhaps you weren't but lots of players were very happy when PGI decided to redo some of the old 8 vs 8 maps. I may not like everything they did with the redoing maps but they were needed.

now, if you are going to suggest something on topic like paying for map packs (a bad idea), that's cool.

Agreed, paying for maps or map packs just divides the community and is definitely not cool. Also, yes I agree that the original maps were stale, we've been playing them for ever, and the refresh of them looks swell and all that... but we need more maps (many more), maps that are dynamic and offer a multitude of play styles and strategies that can be employed en route to victory, not maps that just require you to go to the hill.

I'd love more maps as well. That's part of the goal of this thread. Get Pgi less dependent on mech packs so that they can focus on everything else.

Yeah, I could have been clearer when talking about that. I like the individual packs as well.

So far we've come up with or talked about, PvE, Customization, Hero weapons & a subscription.

Anything else?

I just got a message from Tina, our ideas have been passed on but currently they're putting a lot of effort into making CW phase 3.
