Guess what's "missing"? Hiding!

Hiding is allowed! Take that you naysayers! :P

I hope they add "report hiding" -option, at least in skirmish.

What you ignorantly call tears I call justified frustration. There are better options for fixing wait times and match making than annoying people who just want to play the damn game with their friends and with the mechs they enjoy and/or paid for. Lets say I and another friend both bought the Mauler pack and wanted to play together with our Maulers when they came out. Nope sorry can't do that your options are to play solo or not use the mech you just received and paid real money for. Pretty sh*tty system.

You can "use the mech you just received and paid real money for". You said it, it's called solo queue. When you join group queue, you accept certain limitations that coem with it. Complaining that you can't all drop assaults is like complaining that we can't all select same class in some MOBA or FPS. Of course you can't. It has been that way in multiplayer games for a very long time. And yet people did not complain about "using the <class/whatever> you just received and paid real money for".

I pretty much just play solo queue... But, I would think groups up to 3 should be able to have 100 tons each.

MM still tries to balance based on weight class, right? So if 3 guys pick assault mechs, they could get tossed in with groups of heavies and mediums without tilting balance one way or another... Right?

Either way, they said they can change the numbers without a patch, and will be listening for feedback.... So chill out :P

The problem is a different one. Your 3 guys using 100 ton each can no longer be matched with any given 9 man group that conforms to the weight limits of a 9 man group!
Thats what this tonnage thing is all about. At least thats how I understood it. To make matching easier and simpler, and therefore faster.
Any given 3 man, can be matched with any other groups that sum up to 12 man, if each and every one of those groups conform to the weight requirements.

Now if we can only get rid of that stupid box at the end of the games telling us that we could've earned more cbills by having Premium TIme....

Not helping out people when they do their best without Premium only to be told that you haven't earned more by having it.

You need 3 mechs that together weigh >120 ton or <230 ton. Means you cant have 3 Atlas, 3 Commando etc.

I myself think that 3xdire would be a bit too much, but sorry, this argument is invalid. 3+9 could reach max 940, while 3+3+3+3 could (theorethically) reach 1200 tons. If MM would ignore the weight, while it will focus MAINLY on weight. Imbalance? Where?

The way I see it, the whole weight restriction system was designed around two ideas. Both are wrong IMHO:

1. not allowing 12-mans getting 12xstormcrows (average weight for them is ~53 tons). To prevent that, all other groups must suffer strange limits, for this sole purpose. 2 friends cannot take 2 atlai because some 12-man could have weight for 12 stormcrows. 12-mans cannot have weight for 12 stormcrows, thus all the other groups must have less weight so that they will not overpower stormcrowless 12-man with sheer amount of armor.

The game punishes players that don't exploit game balance flaws for the game balance flaws.

2. Limit weight possiblities to facilitate matchmaking
At least I cannot find other explanation for disallowing 3xlocust combos. Hell, you can't even take 2xlocust or 2xcommando/2xmyst lynx. Are they OP? No, and never be. It's just that without 3/3/3/3 it would be hard to include them into the weight-based MM (e.g. stick them to a 9-man who in turn have low average top weight, making a completely underweight team.) This time players are punished so that new MM could work better. So players need to adapt to MM, while it should be the MM that adapts to players.

I'm no whiner, nor a doomsayer. This is just a bad concept. Maybe not tragic, but at least bad.

Certain weight restrictions could work on top of 3/3/3/3 (eg. not enough tonnage for 9-12 mans to use only 35/55/75/100 ton mechs).Like need to observe 3/3/3/3 and weight if in big groups or sth

My feedback? I already organised an event for my unit where we will abuse the hell out of this badly designed rules for group drops. Not implementing any limitations to the number of weight classes allowed is just wrong.

Examples? Sure... this is one of the setups we're going to use right after the patch:
6x Timber Wolf, 6x Arctic Cheetah.

10 tons space, maybe we'll replace one Timber with a Warhawk. Or two Cheetahs will become FS9s. I am sure you'll get the point. We might stream this and will have videos done for sure because we want to bring this issue to PGI's attention.

Other than that, the Wolfhound looks as uninspiring, boring and totally superfluous as expected when I read through the R2 specifics for the first time several months ago. I am honestly sorry for every player who spent money for this pack. Maulers seem to be OK or even good, the BLKs and Crabs are pretty tanky, but that seems to be all you can say about it.

About all the other stuff... hot fixes are welcome as usual, the color thingy probably used up resources better used for realcontent and the report tool will be abused as hell by a lot of douchebags out there. We can only wish the flood of reports to be expected is worked on by human beings rather than any kind of code.

By the way, where's my 4 on 4 CW mode?

Best changes ever.

Including the Tonnage, though no one in this game will tell you they like it. (Because of Reasons [they are idiots])

This is a F2P team based game. Expecting people to give you money and not be able to use the things you paid for while playing in a group is the definition of stupid. As for MOBAs(which this game is not) you can actually take all of the same class just not the same character. It might not be the best strategy, but you can do it, and frankly those games of League for example where my entire team took AD carries were rather fun. The 3/3/3/3 system was bad but this is actually worse.

Why? Who hides to help the enemy and why, instead of doing to preserve themselves?

Wut? Hiding <> Disconnecting.

Besides, just because you were reported does not mean you would automatically be sanctioned. That would be a griefing opportunity.

6 Timberwolves 6 Arctic Cheetahs. That one is 630. Hmm I wonder how this will all play out now.

That will do in lieu of the Steiner Company (i.e. 12 Atlases). ;)

I agree with Outcast16 regarding the potential abuse of the reporting feature. To have such a robust list of options for reporting another player on-the-fly seems a bit extreme. Are there really this many complaints about other players to warrant such a feature? This would be like having an app to report your neighbor to the cops when he is being a jerk. This is a war simulator, not a feel-good stroll through Unicorn Valley.

The lack of a reporting feature has been whined loudly about for a while now by some very very vocal forum goers. As such, it looks like PGI has finally given in.

In any case, having one is not so bad. Just because someone reported you does not mean you really did something wrong and will be automatically sanctioned. That would be silly. I just hope PGI has the staffing required to filter through what I expect to be a deluge of reports.

Yes I've played it two years ago, no fun.
We had this in MWO and it was bad. Not the same but similar.
Now we back to this. Every one known this was bad.

And you think this will boost my game experience?
Nope. The new MM i broken plus this tonnage limits, this will be hell.

I beg to disagree. I liked not knowing what crazy enemy composition you were about to face. The 3/3/3/3 system has made the game more sterile that I would like.
