As I explained, if I run an assault in solo games, I will be left behind. If I run an assault with my buddy and he is forced to run a lighter mech, he wouldn't want to stick with me because I'm too slow. Either way, I get ganged ***** by the enemy in slow assault.

In solo games Assault Mechs get grouped with other Assaults and Heavies for their lance. How are you getting left behind by mechs that run at the same speed or only ~15 kph faster than you? It doesn't happen to 90% of other Dire pilots I see on my teams.

And with regards to your friend, if you're only running in a group with him he doesn't have to pick a light or medium, he still has a full range of heavies to assist you with. If your friend would leave your Dire behind in a heavy it's time to find some new friendly pilots.

Well you must be a really great pilot. I'm a Tier 1 with full bar so I can only imagine that you must be amazing. This has been my experience in a Direwolf...it is what it is.
you are a teir 1?, im skeptical. Also I concur that its something you are/are not doing .

I doubt it. It was already stated a few times that hiding to preserve one's self is a legitimate tactic, in spite of those insisting otherwise.

Let me guess it's also a legit tactic to not engage the enemy team at all and hide all game?

Please explain the intentional exclusion of the "Hiding" offense.

What was difficult to grasp in the question? Is it a legit tactic or not to avoid engaging the enemy and screwing your team over in the process? Isn't hard.

The new cammo screen needs to completely grey out colors the player does not own when the filter is applied.

It is dizzying trying to make out the few colors I own from a hex grid that is
- not sorted by hue and saturation,
- only Slightly darker versions of the ones I do not own.

I recommend organizing colors from Left to Right by Hue (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet)
and from Top to Bottom (De-saturated, saturated)

Has anyone else had the game crash whenever you click "play" in the launcher? I've run the repair tool three times to no avail and I've sent support an email with the crashdump, dxdiag and omicron logs, but this problem seems new since patching,,,

Well I wish I could show you. But I'm not trying to convince anyone. Simply putting feedback here for PGI. PGI can verify my Tier status so they know. They can always reply and call me out if it is a lie.

But if the change works for others then so be it. No one is forcing me to play this game or spend money on it. Simply giving feedback about my intent. Really no hard feeling to PGI--I enjoyed the game for years. I just have a problem with paying for something which I can't play when and how I want to.

Hey PGI...

I love the color and pattern screen... BUT.... The "Owned" on the color screen is REALLY hard to use.... I can't find my PC Gamer Black.... it blends in with all the other deactivated colors.... there needs to be something more distinctive on the owned colors, maybe just a highlighted outline around the hex, or get rid of the unowned hexes....

Also.... the "RESET" button was really nice before n.n I see that you can click restore on each individual hex, which is fine, but the reset button from before was really nice.

This is generally one of the major differences between pugs and actual units/co-ops, using both situational awareness and working together as a team/unit. If your friend hightails it out of there, he is an acquaintance, not a friend nor team mate unless the following applies, then the question is, what sort of friend are you?

As to being left behind, the question is what are you doing? Are you actually ready to go at the beginning or are you doing other things before alt-tabbing back into the game? If you are communicating then they should work with you but if you are more of an silent AFK, how long should they wait for you?

What you ignorantly call tears I call justified frustration. There are better options for fixing wait times and match making than annoying people who just want to play the damn game with their friends and with the mechs they enjoy and/or paid for. Lets say I and another friend both bought the Mauler pack and wanted to play together with our Maulers when they came out. Nope sorry can't do that your options are to play solo or not use the mech you just received and paid real money for. Pretty sh*tty system.

Dont feed the trolls

I had this.... Uninstall/reinstall fixed it..... Good luck with the stupid slow download. I have 50 Meg internet and PGI throttles it at their end at 10 meg. Not impressed.

Camo pattern selection is not easier to work with at all. Scrolling colors, in pallet order is easier to work with. This hex grid is annoying, hard to find the right colors.

Turning off unowned colors should remove the hexs with those colors.

Double clicking a color moves your selection to the next color choice, which is confusing. I double click the color to keep from losing the color while I look at other colors. Can't do that, cuz it shows colors for the next spot.

Camo selection looks pretty, but is impractical. I prefer the previous version.

Wut? Hiding <> Disconnecting.

Besides, just because you were reported does not mean you would automatically be sanctioned. That would be a griefing opportunity.

Apologies, poor context on my part. I latched on to the "disconnecting" quote mentioned in your post, and it did not quote properly for me (hazards of forum use via a mobile device). Normally I don't get riled up about the various updates to MWO, but this one really "got my goat." I suppose I just need to be patient and see how it all unfolds.

Greetings PGI & fellow MechWarriors,

ISSUES WITH THE CURRENT PATCH
  • Skin/Color Panel for Gold Mechs freezes the game
  • 2 man tonnage limit is a "friend play breaking feature"
While I understand conceptually why this was done for the match maker, you repeated the fatal mistake from beta which limited how we play together. I painfully saw the results as my 12 real-life friends perma-quit as a direct result of us no longer being able to play together when the group sizes shrunk to 4-- and as reflected in your online count, they did not return once the 12-player group changes were finally implemented. The current change is frustrating beyond words-- I have one real-life friend left who plays. One of our nightly rituals was to take our Direwolves out for a spin. It may sound trivial, but one glance at the millions of XP on our Direwolves, it was a regular thing. Overlooking the fact that we paid real life money for them, I would like to strongly express the real problem... you took away our fun. I do not have to worry about trying to group with him tonight, because... well, my lost MW real-life friend score is now at 13. I sincerely hope this specific decision is undone as quickly as possible.
  • Color Choosing System needs better display & selection method
Currently, when you show only colors you own, the colors you do not own are darkened. This makes it extremely difficult to find darker colors that you do own. It would be better to make them invisible entirely (or just outlines). I am assuming you did this to remind players that there are other colors. A good UI compromise would be, when "owned" is selected, only show "darker unowned colors" when the use moves the mouse completely out of the color section area. The second issue is that when you double click and choose a color, it automatically switches to the next part of a mech to choose a color for. The result is that you change the color of one mech part, but then also see the next part being the same color. To solve this either A.) Make it click to choose a color. B.) Once you double click a color, do not automatically apply the color to the next piece... instead wait for them to move the mouse out of the current hexagon.
Battle on!
Artix

Looking forward for 6 Battlemasters/Stalkers and 6 locust. Not that it's better than what you can do with clan mechs but It's just another way to make the game "fun".
