Can we please see a weapon balance pass on the next PTS? IMO many of the mech balance issues arise over having the "wrong" hardpoints currently.

Example issues:
AC2 has far too much heat/damage ratio.
SRMs travel too slow.
MGUNs have far too little damage.

Joystick control... Is there ANY chance we will ever have MechWarrior 4 style joystick control?

What I mean by MW4 style Joystick support is the way torso control is managed mostly.
The basic setup for MW4 was:
- X-axis -> (side-to-side) Mech turning
- Y-axis -> (front-to-back) Torso Pitch, positional/analogue
- Z-axis -> (twist) Torso yaw, positional/analogue
By positional/analogue I mean a direct relationship between the position of the joystick (within its twist range or pitch range) and the position of the torso. i.e. 50% twist to the right = 50% of the right yaw. This is the part that is lacking, in my opinion.

I purchased a Saitek X52 (~$180+tx&shp) specifically for MWO. My first experience was extreme disappointment. I twisted right to about 50% and my torso just kept going… I centered my joystick, and to my surprise, the torso stayed in place. That’s when I realized joystick support was more forklift like. I then spent a few weeks going through MWO’s forum reading so many peoples attempts at mitigating the joystick support issues, but with no real successes. You can tell in a match which pilots are using joysticks. As soon as you start Spectating in one of these Mechs you can see the disadvantage these players are playing with. They are willing to take this hit to make the game more immersive for them. I understood that joystick was not officially supported. Certainly not while in Beta. All I could do was wait and hope… and wait and hope.

I also expect that this kind of joystick "might" require locked arms, but I think that’s a small price to pay.

Thanks for listening

New weapon/component/modules. Is there any plan for this?
New game modes for CW and group/solo queue?
What is the timing looking like for the single player campaign/game mode?
Rebalancing? Rescaling? Timeline bump? More things for the unit to make them unique? Also things to spend cbills on?
Tournaments? (Not that I have taken place in these but it is good for the community). Events?

Thank you for doing those rounds the other night. I enjoyed watching it later on to see how you all play against other people.

I realize that mechs and stuff are where you make your money, and I have bought every top tier pack (except the Urbanmech) since the founders pack came out, but I would really like to see some new actual content. I enjoy CW, however it gets tiresome waiting for drops when you only have a limited amount of time to play, and it usually ends up in a pretty one-sided fight most of the time I have played it recently. Either we roll them or more often we get rolled. Having different game modes or things to do in general would be nice to see.

SRMs travel too slow, take too much heat and spread too much damage/don't do enough damage.

I don't really give a rat's ass about anti-infantry weapons, but a lot of people want powerful facehugging gatling guns for some reason.

Is there anything ever going too be done with faction coffers, and if not are you going too ever return it too the member of group who has invested in it since CW has been started.

Would love to see more variants of current mechs regardless of their weapon loadout not being supported in the current time line. Would like to see the Blackjack BJ-2, 3052; Urbanmechs, UM-68, and, UM-80; KingCrab, KGC-010 .

Make some up even - would also be nice to have harpoint mirrored versions of some of the lopsided mechs, and that should be pretty dang easy for the team to pull off.

What's the next classic/unseen Mech? Maybe the next classic/unseen package will be from 4 Mechs - light, medium, heavy, assault?

Question: Are there any plans to add a different color indicator to the HUD for team mates who you are grouped with? It would be nice to know where my two team mates are at a glance, rather than having to hold "Q" and try and sift through all the other names and text that clutter the HUD.

To clarify:
Enemies are RED
Teammates are BLUE
Lancemates are TEAL
Group members (regardless of what lance they're in) show up as PURPLE, or would have a different border around their triangle icon to differentiate them.

Was this done so it does not conflict with HBS's Twitch Q&A?

No, because 10 AM PDT does not equal 6 PM PDT.

Hi Russ,

In the last Town Hall you spoke on mech packs saying "if you don't find value in a mech pack, don't buy it". With the real "in-game" value of mechs currently relying so heavily on the finer details not disclosed before release (quirks, hitboxes, ext.), is there any plan in the future to give more information about the mech packs upfront?

It kind of feels like a roll of the dice right now. Might get the best new chassis on the battlefield, might get a total lemon. Thanks

1. Paul (or anyone that can answer) what is the status of Solaris? Free For All mode in particular.

2. Why does it seem that all the resistance variants and many of the hero mechs are nerfed in comparison to their regular variant counter parts? There are exceptions (misery, ilya, zeus r variant, huginn, etc) but it seems they are heavily nerfed quirk (and some times hard point)-wise in comparison to their regular variants. I am especially annoyed that it seems the majority of the resistance variants for both released packs are sub par compared to their regular variant counter parts. I am DEFINITELY NOT the only person saying this. Please don't tell me the 30 percent CBills accounts for this because people that have been around a while or sink a lot of money in this game (ie me) do not need cbills nearly as much.

1) Like the House/Clan camo patterns will we ever see Merc Company camo? Like the Wolf Dragoons, Light House, Kell Hounds, Northwind Highlanders, Grey Death and so on.

2) When will we see a fix to CW?

3) Could it be possible to have solo players drop in a faction que and allow the leader of a group to pick which planet, available to their faction, to drop on? This would prevent 6 different planets having 3 solo players each hoping for a fight and instead allow for quicker response for matches.

4) Personally I'm just dreaming but I would love to see the Piranha mech offered for purchase like Urbie/Mad/Warhammer. In fact I would pay the extra $500 for a gold version. Any chance of seeing the 12 MG mech?

My question ... What is your long-term vision for MechWarrior: Online?

Background ... three and a half years ago, we had the "four pillars" ... 'Mech Warfare, Role Warfare, Information Warfare, and Community Warfare. I'm going to guess that 'Mech Warfare is pretty close to what you wanted / expected. There's more fine tuning to be done to improve balance, and the new player experience, but it's pretty darn good. I like that the recent PTS runs seem to be focused on Information and Role Warfare. I hope that the current state of Community Warfare is only scratching the surface of what is yet to come ... it could be much more (see the recent re-release of NBT for some ways).

Phrased another way ... I'm a whale, willing to support you as long as you keep making a good game, but I'm starting to wonder where you're headed. Convince me to keep throwing money at you.
