[Amaranth Panther]

53 Matches in my Stock DRG-1N, and thanks to the event it's now completely elited. Mastery's less important due to the fact that we're not using modules on it. But completing the elites also doubles the basic skill benefits. This mech is now, officially, as good as it's going to get. (Edit: 20w, 33l, 23k, 32d)

The other 2 Dragons are fully mastered, and the 1C is a beast with 3 LPL, so long as nobody who knows how to shoot aims for one of its disastrous ST hitboxes.

My GHR-5N has enough XP to elite the moment I've basiced 2 more GHRs. It'll probably rack up enough for mastery in the time it takes to grind the cash for the 3rd one. I've already got enough for the 2nd.

Which brings me to my MC hoard. I've got enough now (2,667) to purchase my Panther hero, if it were a thing. Alas, it's little more than a twinkle in the eye of the dev team (I hope!), so I'm going to invest in some mech bays when they go on sale tomorrow. I'm going to buy at least 3, likely 4.

I'm nervy about buying more, in part due to my goal to save for my precious, and in part because I'm going to be doing FP grinding through the IS again for a second round of mechbay warfare. I'm going to ride those Grasshoppers to victory and grind for ClanTech to fill those bays (probably TBRs and SHCs ... we'll see).

thanks to a bit of free PT and double XP event i now have 2 mastered and 1 elited Executioners

still need to smash a bunch of components, like 60, to get all that glorious MC. hey 250 MC is nothing to sneeze at LOL

now to buy some mech bays and get some cbills for a stock mech.

For Challenge#5 (Clans):

Wouldnt it make sense to pick Clanmechs that are exact of that IS-counterparts weight we had to play? ( just an idea)

Not that I disagree on principle, but ClanTech options are a bit ... limited ... in certain weight brackets.

You'd type it with little bracket code thingies, like this (edit: which apparently is harder to show than it would seem)

Use a set of brackets for each image's link, like these: [bracket] my image link to my imgur [/bracket]

Fill them with "img" and "/img" instead of "bracket" and "/bracket" for phone forum fun.

I know there are side challenges but I wanted to keep this kinda pure to the original thought. I played Centurions as exclusive as I could.

Of course I had some matches in trial mechs because some MC challenges required that. Actually that indeed gave me some headaches because I had these flawless stats with cents only; I could buy a cent with the start/academy money. Not a single match in a trial, always cents only.

But in the end I had this one goal: gather enough MC to buy a Yen lo Wang. Then I can master all the cents, on a totally free account. And this bigger goal demanded it to run some trials, to get every little MC I could.

I was near 2800 or so, waiting. Waiting for the hero mech sale. Every year had one, YLW was always in it, I even had a excel sheet that calculated what discount I need to buy one. I was at 28% by the way. Then we got 50%! Yesssss!!!!

So yesterday was the day, I bought one. And not only one Yen Lo Wang, I had something like 1000 MC extra. That was one nearly white color (some camo light grey or so) for 500 MC and I even could afford 3 number decals (actually I had 538 MC and needed 540 but I got some 25 from the challenge so it was enough).

The mechs were painted and the final Centurion hit the field. Yesterday I could fully elite it, today I mastered it. That double XP event helped, though

Now we are here, these are my mechs and I even have one empty bay.

• The A cent is my goto SRM bomber, I love that loadout. The NCIX-"Hero" copied the build so my original Cent is now a tryout-platform for some AC10 testing.
  
• The AH is the only one with a sub-275XL, fielding a 255XL to fit the 3 SRM4s in it, together with the AC20.
  
• The D is of course LBX, paired with a single LPL.
  
• The ALs both have 3 Large Lasers, I bet you can all guess what the ER means. Actually the ER-LL version is my favorite these days and I got my Ace of spades in that mech:

• And finally the YLW, AC20(4t) and 2 MPLs with XL300, what else?

This challenge was awesome. No, it is awesome. I always like the Centurion but playing this mech for a longer time I really love it now. It showed me again why I still play this game. I now know why some people stick to a single mech for their whole MWO life and if I had to chose... ok I'd always take my catapult first but after that I'd totally commit to this mech.

Glad you enjoy the challenge, but HBS has not released BATTLETECH yet, so you still have time to keep working on those stats!

Also, the Mech I like best is my Mad Dog Prime (on my Clan account), I always play the same loadout and always seem to do best in that Mech.

contemplating my stock mech. at the moment i am looking hard at the MAD 3R and the WHM 6R. neither one is a great but then what stock mech is, beside the Victor, that is. while the WHM has a very good weapon load out, it is a bit weak in the CT armor. the MAD can't match the DPS but it has almost double the CT armor. neither have great leg armor but i am in tier 5 so people aiming at legs, or any other component, is rare. heat efficiency is about the same, but the WHM almost doubles the DPS of the MAD. I like both on my main account and since i bought collector packs i have stock ones to try out. I know the DRG is popular as a stock mech but to me the WHM and MAD are the BattleTech mechs. I have thought about the AS7 but the atlas is kind of a johnny come latter mech to me as it was not in the original box set. also i have my light and assault dance card filled.

The MAD-3R was my favorite IS heavy until the great rescaling, but now I find myself piloting my Warhammer most of the time.

The challenge runs until the release of Battletech in May so there is still plenty of time to join in. If you decide to take the challenge, post your WMC pilot name back here and we will add you to the What Mech unit.
