Honestly, I am actually liking my Commandos. The Commando was never a mech that I seriously considered playing, but I am having fun trying to pilot it effectively nonetheless. HBS must have used some psychology when they created that test that somehow chooses the right mech for you. You never know, but so far most people doing this challenge are ending up liking their mechs (and some were lucky enough to get mechs that they are very used to playing).

It is your choice, but you he point of a challenge is to challenge yourself. Also, your "challenge" account will not cost you any money and you may be surprised about how much easier it is to earn the Cbills that you will need than it used to be. Plus as I have said before, I believe that the Victor is currently one of the Trial mechs, so you could just use that (and earn xp on that chassis) while you are saving to buy your three variants.

I don't know if the Rifleman is in the test, but part of the point of this challenge is tol use the mech you get the first time you take the test. Also, your create a new, alt account for the challenge and do not spend any money on that account, so it would be months until the Rifleman is available for Cbills. Finally, you are not expected to play your challenge account exclusively, so you can hop on your main account and play any mech you want anytime you want.

8 round, 6 losses, 7 deaths...I am going to have a quite a hole to dig out of when I get this thing elited.

Bright side: I have a std 275 in my cn9-AL now so at least I am faster than the assaults finally

I know that feeling, when a Warhawk or masc´ed Executioner runs past my panther, something is weird

..or when you cant keep up with an Urbanmech oO

Well, in lore the Panther was a slow mech, it was meant to be a sniper. I fell you though, my Commando was poking along at 96kph beforeI got my XL.
