This match took me by surprise, Grasshoppers a good mech but only usually 5-600 damage on a good match, and the 4 KMDD was a nice boost for this event.
might be better when i can afford to put any modules on it.

ok i know that pic is like a "what?!?!" but the story is worth it.
Crimson Straits in a VTR 9B Skirmish,
spawn on the island. head under the platform and near the saddle to support a saddle or tunnel rush. looking at the rest of my team it looks like we are defending the platform. yep we going to die. lights spot a CN9 over the saddle but nothing else. as a battle master is up there in support i walk over to the tunnel area were a quick draw is just inside the tunnel mouth. he starts to take fire and a timber moves in with him. bam they run into a DDC and a timber. both hit reverse and block the tunnel. i get past them as the DDC kills the quick draw and gets lined up on the timber. this is were the DDC made his only mistake. he ignored me and concentrated on the timber. big mistake which he found out when 2 srm4s, an ac20, and 2 MPLs took out his back armor. next volley he loses his left torso. he figures out who is the threat and we dance, at arms length in the tunnel. (note to self start running the game cam again) it is a short brutal brawl in which the DDC went down hard. i then got one ac20 into his wing man, a lazor vomit timber, before falling down to a single alpha. at this point a kid with a spit ball could of killed me.
so i figure i did just a hair over 200 damage on the DDC and no he did not have an XL as he lost the left torso early in the fight. also besides the ac20 round to the wing man I tagged a Hunchback with a MPL before ducking into the tunnel. yep just a bit over 200 damage. most to the front torso area. not a bad kill i think. would of been better if i would of survived longer but you can't dance toe to toe and give up 20 tons without taking a bit of a beating.
i tell you Victors get no respect, no respect.
extra points if you read that last bit in a Rodney Dangerfield voice

sadly i did not finish the 9K super stock. i took the 340xl out of the CDA 2A and built it as a fast range build with 2 erll, 2 lrm5 but i kept the gauss. i don't believe the xl was much of a hindrance in tier 5 as it was mostly CT and leg shooters. that and i don't stand still much and abuse the 6 JJs a lot. still the 9K was meh

the 9S is my best mech but the 9B has the best win/loss and well the 9K , it has it place in my CW drop deck were it works much much better. especially any time it is hold/defend were it can get into a good over watch position. the 9B and 9S being short range builds are best saved for 2nd or 3 rd when already engaged and targets are with in 200m. the stock 320std was plenty of engine for almost anything VTRs need. yes the 9K works well with the 340xl but it is not an in your face brawler.
over all a good challenge and a change from having a vast selection of stuff that my primary has. has changed my mind about the VTR from the awful experience i had with the trial victor right after the great JJ nerf.

its not gunna take too many games to get my first Atlas at that rate

I'm going to get the atlas -S as my first mech, because it comes with dual heat sinks, and looks to be well rounded for an atlas
