Looks like I missed your previous post when I posted under Amaranth. :(

Also, upon further review, those reward conditions are pretty grindy. Be forewarned folks. I'm not sure I'll be able to complete it on my primary, much less my WMC alt, given that I'm unavailable for the last 4 days of the event. :(

yep the requirements to get a mech are way out there. it was figured in another post you had to play 6 scouting and 3 Invasion a day, with good games, to max out this one. about 2 to 3 hours a day every day for 10 days. a bit grindy.

so go out GL HF or die Trying....

new week still with Liao. might have to keep an eye on the bonuses on other days and see is there is a day of the week that has better bonuses. Right now 10% is the best. So far i am not having any problem getting drops, winning drops is another matter but that is pug life...

Cockpit tchotchkes, GXP, even 100 MC toward mechbay No. 6 (when they go on sale).

I'm down. :)

Time to pick up this account for my monthly check-in, now that the CW grinder's done.

Project Update:

1) Working masters for all 3 Panthers (8Z, 9R, 10K)
2) Saving ahead for my upcoming 2nd chassis for the challenge
3) Banking for a couple (or 3) donations to the unit coffers.

Regarding point no. 3, what I want to do is "pay it forward" for one unit invite, retro-pay for my current presence in the unit (I know I don't have to, but it pays another one forward in effect, and it makes sense in my head), and pay for my re-invite if/when I go on an IS loyalist mechbay tour.

Edit, derp, forgot we covered this upthread already Friendly spot-chack and reminder regarding CW/FP: FP stats now affect the stats on your profile page. We may need a ruling to either adjust or affirm current approach. Some of our stats may already have been affected before we realized (not mine yet, I was waiting to go pure challenge dropdeck, because geek).

It appears we will now need to use unit coffers to invite new members to the Challenge. Anyone willing to make a donation, it would be greatly appreciated.

i did check on the invite bit and right now we have 39 members so an invite costs 1,950,000 cbills. i will throw this out there for any active members. if we all throw 2mil cbills in the pot and then we ask any new recruits to reimburse the cost of their recruitment once they master their first set of mechs we should be able to maintain a good pot of cbills to keep the unit afloat. i don't see us holding any planets and needing upgrades but you never know. right now we just need a few cbills to afford recruitment costs

Query:

Is the table copied below from the Phase 3 Patch Notes still accurate?

I noticed that we rated the invite cost at 1.95 million earlier, and I want to verify whether that was a typo or a number we noticed the first time we tested the invite ticket system.

We're not far off from the next threshold at 50 members anyway, but I can't help just bein' a curious cat. It's in my nature Posted Image

*200: 10,000,000 C-Bills

Edit: I dropped my first installment into the coffers, 2 mil c-bills to match the previous donations. I'll drop another 2 mil in the kitty (heh) to celebrate when I master my Panthers, unless we're past our next threshold for invite ticket inflation, in which case I'll match that. I endorse the reimbursement model. It's something I'd do for a unit regardless of whether it's expected, because reasons.

I haven't been to this thread in a while. I did end up mastering all my Atlas's. I was going to do the secondary challenge, but I keep getting atlas for my mech. I guess I'm going to have to change more of my answers. Posted Image I was still trying to be too truthful I guess. I think I will go with my second best answer on every question next time, and see if i can get something different.

Also once I saw we had to pay to invite new people, I put two million in the unit coffer as suggested.

the cost of an invite is a per member not tier type. ie it goes up with each member. i just checked out cost and it is 1.9 mil.

A BIG THANK YOU to every one that has contributed to the coffers. we have not had any new members since the pay to recruit rule but if we do we have some money to recruit them. may have to purchase some invite tickets at this amount if we get a big influx of players

After much negotiation we are still with House Liao but now at a 20% bonus.

OK not so much negotiation as just did not renew the contract when it happened to be at 20%

This just clicked for me. The cost scales up linearly, 50k c-bills per member already in the unit.
38members,
x 50k c-bills
= 19,000,000 c-bills

In theory, the recruitment cost is like every member ponying up 50k every time the unit extends a recruitment offer (ticket).

Huh.

you do know that the idea of this challenge is to make an ALT account and start from scratch only playing your "mechs" unless you need a few C-Bills to buy your first chassis. IE i had to play 3 drops in an EXE as i could not afford a Victor with my start up moneys. also if your "mechs" don't fit in a drop deck you may use a Trial mech to fill out your deck. this last point is kind of in flux as FW stats show up on your Stats now.

I apologize if this was already known.

BTW if you have not already done an ALT and want to join up. post your ALT name and I will send you an invite to the unit. we do not have set times or meetings you just get to sport the cool (WM) unit tag Posted Image

Thanks for the clarification, but I already knew. I was just joking around with my post. I did get a Victor and I have achieved "mastery" in them, but I really don't have much time for an alternate account. If I get more time I would gladly accept the invite, it sounds like a fun concept. Victors now...it could be a scary challenge. I kept one, and play it now and then.

I had a much easier time with Victors then i am having with Ravens and I am a master Locust Pilot on my main account. The 4x is taking forever LOL

I "clicked" with the 9B today, which I don't have on my primary. It was a very pleasant surprise. Had a couple games where I had double the damage of any other player in the game, and a couple with 5 KMDD. Built like so. Take note, I'm working on the cheap, and haven't paid the DHS tax yet. o.0

What 4x build are you using? That was the first I mastered, using basicly the standard 3l build -ECM +JJ's. Snipe and move.

Yah, same here. I went ERLL Xtreme on it. Folks love the 2 LPL, too. I'd say the ERLL build has the better oddz of "feeling" closer to a Locust (and I know he loves his Locusts), like a shoot-and-move snipery one (with JJs!).

IIRC, 4X has that nice beam duration quirk too. That's priceless for an ERLL troll.

tried a couple of different RVN 4X builds. the issue i am having is the thing is cursed LOL. the thing is a stomp magnet. the 3L setup similar had a much better XP earning per game. grrr the 4X is avg about 400 xp a game.

give it time and i may get the hang of it yet. probably just me playing way too aggressively.
