Hayden... that is amazingly beautiful, that 9th Sword insignia. I've known Paladin Brewer from various forums for a long time and, though we don't always see eye-to-eye, I have no doubt that your work with him was rewarding; I think that's one of the most beautiful insignia I've ever seen. I've also been as repulsed by House Kurita almost as much as the Clans, and that typically includes insignia, but this one gave me goose bumps; yeah, it's all that AND the bag of chips. Well done.

Hayden, you've once again pushed the boundaries of "the most awesome thing I have ever seen next to Awesome".

You must really be proud of it and I hope Paladind Brewer likes it. ;)

Wow, Adridos! That's high praise coming from you! I appreciate it!

I appreciate your kind words, Kay!

This is a compressed file of all canonical unit insignia I have done up to this point, some of which have not been posted here before. I have excluded some either because they deviate too broadly or I'm just not that happy with them (looking at you, Sirian Lancers).

Enjoy!

Hayden, thank you very much for these. I would hope that many, if not all of the insignia you have rebuilt will find a place in MWO. I can't think, right now, of a larger portfolio booster than doing all of these, not for a game that I believe, in the end, will be AAA.

Haha, I doubt any of these will make it in, but if even one did it would be a huge honor. Thanks for the vote of confidence!

ED: More to come.

sorry for the late reply (was out of the country), but...

MASSIVE FIST PUMP! Excellent work Hayden (and whoever else helped). Getting the fading right of the sunburst on the original logo was proving very difficult for me. Yours is simple, elegant, and easily recognizable while still clearly indicating who the Pitcairn Legion fights for ;)

I worked alone. Based it off my earlier OWA insignia, but rotated the blue parts so that they were out of the way for the sword. Glad you liked it!

Something a bit out of the ordinary here. I whipped these up for Preston's Lancers, but if anyone wants to use them, here is a set of era-appropriate CCAF ranks. The only one that might not be appropriate is the Lt. Col. Insignia, as it is listed in some sources, but seems to have been added after the Xin Sheng reforms. Regardless, I have included it. Also, these insignia use pre-Xin Sheng naming conventions.

She's so purty! Good memories from fighting under that insignia (before we became the 9th Sword anyway).

Hayden has done a fine job re-imagining these logos, but just in case, here is the official (canon) color version of the Pitcairn Legion from the Reunification War sourcebook.

I did a search and couldn't find it... has the Pitcairn Legion been done yet? It is a badass unit with a badass history (think sorta like the A-Team). They are easily one of the coolest canon units most of you probably haven't heard about. I have yet to see a version of their insignia in color. Could sure use it:
