I'm looking forward to seeing how the heat sink changes affect play. Hopefully it's a big enough change to make Clan laser vomit less alpha heavy. And the Gauss nerf will reduce the effectiveness of Gauss vomit, which the heat sink changes will likely cause a lot of players to use instead.

These all look like good changes.

This skill down grade will affect the extreme ends of the weight spectrum the most...

Lights depend on the heat related efficiencies so that they can carry enough weaps to be viable. Assaults drive like sludge without the maneuvering skills.

Mediums and heavies have more flexibility to choose agility vs firepower (IS anyway).
A few clan mechs are screwed since they can't opt for a different engine. Don't forget that clan tech tends to run hot so those laser vomit boats will miss the heat skills too.

So in a funky way, the winners of this pass would appear to be IS mediums and heavies...

I like it for the most part assaults should suffer more against fast mechs tho i think they should get armor buffs, assaults should lead the charge tanking damage wile lights should consentrate on kills of opertuninty and assisting there team mates rather then brawling like everyone else.

Anyone else get the feeling that PGI does not love IS mechs? For instance, in CW drop, one would see a bunch of stalkers, tbrs, ravens, dragons, etc. Now...I wonder what the IS are going to use? LOL Oh well, back to stomping or be stomped

Really what I would like to see is a removal of minimum range for IS LRM. Do it for the PPC, too. I need a stronger argument than "lore" when it comes to game balance.

Now don't go blaming the lore for that mistake. In tabletop it is definitely possible to score hits with the PPC and LRMs inside their minimum range. It just gradually becomes more unlikely the closer you are. This would have been better modeled as a slope to 0 like they do with Clan LRMs. Cutting damage to nothing when you're one meter too close is entirely an MWO innovation and is lore-unfriendly.

I approve of the skill tree nerfs.
Yup, I said it.

I want my mechs to feel like mechs! Not 70+ ton machines Running around in Crysis exo-suits jumping and dancing around.

A total rework of the skill tree would be favorable but this will do. I've always felt having full efficiencies unlocked gave one too much of an agility advantage over someone who is playing F2P and is having a hard time grinding all the chassis.

If people played CW the way it was supposed to be played (i.e. working as a team) then I think the only time clans would have a technological advantage is on cold maps with wide open spaces like boreal and grim portico... but even grim has good cover if you use it.

Vitric is too hot for the clan laser vomit. I feel like hellbore and emerald are a wash do to good cover options and sulphorous can go either way as well.

Organized IS can beat clan pugs on any of these maps...

Leave the damn pilot modifiers alone, we did in-fact work for those on many, many, many mechs. Balance by removing all mech quirks, heat issues, and learn to create a real ELO/team balance system.

Seriously PGI you are making it harder and harder to enjoy this game, over the last year with all the questionable team balance crap.

Indeed.

The fact you have to qualify by saying organized IS groups can beat Clan pugs says just how underpowered IS mechs are compared to Clans. IS nerfed and Clan predominantly left alone.

clans have a big advantage on any map when defending, the first wave gets belted unless they are really organized and can take out gates in a few bursts is can only score glancing hits most of the time when they are in the same position, but team work always helps a lot.

Confirmed by Russ on Twitter. ECM is retaining stealth, just with reduced radius.

Dissapointed to see removal of balistic range quirks for is lights. Machineguns are hard enough to use effectively anyway...too bad about the Arrow too.

IS pugs can beat clan pugs too. I just did it several times yesterday. We used this sneaky trick the clan pugs didn't know about called...

Actually I remember we played agains a 10 man Thursday night and though we lost, it was rather close.

So as said in other places, a well executed bad plan is better than no plan at all.

In-game teamspeak!

One canner accused us of being a premarital and while we were all Steiner, we were mostly singles.

So consider my qualification rescinded.

Boar's Head "Crit Chance Receiving -25%" looks interesting with the new structure buffs. Why not on other AS?

Overall quirks looks much better than it is live now. Yet the range quirks are still somewhat excessive as for me. Looking forward for the next Info-tech PTS.

It was the only reason I played the PTS...
And the PTS was the only thing I played since PTS2.

Blizzard and WG love me more. (At least- they will.)

[redacted] Piranha can't say anything without you grouches giving them hell over it. If they'd upended the table and put everything in you'd be screaming about them upsetting things and rushing out big changes before they're ready to make Steam release. Now that they've pulled Infotech for more testing and fine-tuning and stuck with just quirk and weapon changes, you people are screaming that they're not going nearly far enough and this isn't anywhere close to the world-shaking rebalance they promised.

[redacted] MAKE. UP. YOUR. [redacted]. MINDS. At this point I'm halfway amazed Piranha hasn't sold the property for scrap, with the way you [surats] keep kvetching about the [strangest] stuff.

Infotech's not ready, so they pulled it. Cool, they can keep working on that and implement it when it is ready. The weapon balancing and quirk adjustments are ready, so they're going in now rather than being chained to Infotech. This is the sort of thing Piranha keeps a test server for, [surats]. Would you prefer they experiment on Live?

There are days I don't know why I bother reading anything here anymore, and this is one of them. Good grief people around here [redacted]...
