I think lrm spam might have something to say to that particular comment. :D

But yeah if you can get a good team together this game is going to be utterly fantastic.

Hmmm, just had an excellent idea to maximise profits for pgi and make eveyone happy.

After open beta starts and the masses flood in why not offer another preorder pack set?

Same amount of money but you get a bit less ingame currency and instead of founders mechs you simply get additional mech unlocks.

Founders pack purchasers could really get a leg up then with not only 4 credit grinding mechs but additional unlocks on normal mechs.

I agree that it is similar in that they are ranged. However, the range is shorter by a lot and there will be no one hitting heavy mechs with the finger of god. This finger of god arty has taken so much tactic out of tanks.

Let's face it:
this is The MechWarrior Online game, if it fails, there isn't going to be a next one any time soon (or even before we are old and grey), but if it persists it can be with us for years and years and years!
So if you are a huge fan of the universe and the games in it (like I am) make sure they get as much early support as they can get. If you can afford it: buy a Founder package, but even if you can't: support the game, beat the drum, be active & constructive in the forums and wear the T-Shirt. :D

They have already made 1.5 mil off current founders pack sales and will most likely break 2+ mil by the end of the sale.

This should be more than sufficient to keep the devs fed and ensure a fully functional game on release.

I just can't get a chance to at least try the game.
I played Battletech in grade school and LOVED it, now, nobody plays the table game so this is my one last hope. I'd be happy to be a founder but I have to at least try the game.

Actually Dodger/Nuesse there is a plethora of informational video's showing break downs of weight classes, the mech lab, some raw game play, and oodles upon oodles of developer posts telling us about the game. Not to mention many interviews on other websites with various gamer mags about some of the aspects of the game. The information is there, you just gotta look for it.

Well, as far as i am concerned i wouldn't call 22 videos, where roughly a third of it are just teasers/trailers and only 7 or 8 are actual gameplay, a "plethora".

Just to pick a point, where some say "hey, that's great and more than worth to spend your money for!" but some are asking for the actual benefit of it:
As a founder you get ingame-money. Great! But who knows what you can do with it? Can you only buy ingame-items? Or can you pay for further premium-months? What is it actually worth? How much money will be needed to keep let's say a lance of Mechs running? Can you earn enough through playing to repair and refit? Do you need the 25%-bonus of the founder Mechs to keep your Mech running without handing over more real money? A lot of questions it they concern one of the selling points of an up to 120$-bundle...

I was and am willing to spend the money without that being answered. But let's face it, you can't demand this quite immature, sort of fanboyish behaviour from everybody. From a strict customer's point of view, the information policy is poor, very poor indeed and Piranha Games is not the world's leading devteam as long as AAA-titles for PC are concerned. I have trust in this project, but mainly because of the participation of Jordan Weisman/Smith & Tinker and Russ' dedication to the franchise, not because previous Piranha-products were espcially good (and none of them was f2p or strictly multiplayer at least)...

You can see it as a quite obvious hint to the devs that they could sell even more if there was more info. I mean, in 3 weeks the access for over 50.000 founders starts and it is still unclear, if the very strict nda will still be in effect. Hell, one can still lose his account (and if he's a legendary that means he looses 120 bucks) by just telling he's in the beta. Does not sound like overwhelming confidence in the product, or does it?

So: more info, more gameplay vids (a whole game from preparation/matchmaking over the actual fight to salvaging/repairing would be nice), letting a magazine test the beta and write about it would be nice. And not unusual. And could result in more sold founder packs.

And that is yourr excuse for not going out on a limb and purchasing a founders pack?

Because of course, if you're posting in this forum you should have bought the pack already. Really? We need an excuse not to spend money on an F2P game? Before it's released, no less? That's ridiculous.
And yes, I spent my money for the same reason you spent yours, and I agree with you to support this. But we can't assume everyone else is a fan in the same sense you and I are.

He didn't annoy me with it. I know there are others on this thread he didn't annoy. So it looks to me he's not annoying everyone else with it, but only those who get way angrier than they should. "Every week the same old song" - so yeah, take it out on this guy, why don't you. It was his first post.

Your right, and mayhap part of my frustration about peoples posting things like this every freaking day comes from the wanton to see and know more about the game. But yet no one crys about paying 60€ Upfront when playing a game like Diablo3 right ? and they had no chanche to realy play it beforehand either. And the informations released wherent exactly 100% either

Good point, but we don't even know if he is a troll. For all we know, he got scared off by the hate.

Well, i know there are forums were quite a lot of people are crying about D3. And i also know that there were open beta weekends or at least something like that (i'm not into D3, so i don't know for sure). And i also know that for example amazon doesn't charge you before the game is delivered. And D3 isn't f2p where only the players who preorder have to pay money. And there were plenty of previews and tests before the release. And as it is Diablo, you know quite sure what the game will be like, how it works (hell, in MWO even the devs seem not to know where the faction-gameplay will head to, it is not even implemented when the founders get access, so we [or at least i] don't even know if it will be just like let's say Battlefield 3 but with Mechs or if it will be some sort of story-driven rpg-style mmog). And, let's face it; Piranha Games is not Blizzard. So: you can't compare D3 with MWO.

Being a founder = just like pre-ordering from a local retailer.

Deal with it.
