Who cannot keep on target - even with these slow 'Mechs - for 1.2 second doesn't deserve to frag me this easy way. Then rather pack SSRMs and UACs.
(Again, remember Quake and holding on a dodging target with a Lightning Gun. MWO lasers are just the easiest way to deliver damage precisely in my experience - actually this is why most of my serious builds rotate around them.)

in all honesty, Battle of Tukayyid here will do two things. One, glaringly show that TEAMWORK wins matches, doesn't matter about the Mechs, and Two, it'll help PGI find most of the remaining aim botters.

you can report people via the score screen, do so. PGI keeps records of matches. and god knows an event like this is definitely a time when someone would want to cheat. if you think someone is using one, report them. people should win because they're actually skilled at piloting a mech, not because a program is doing it for them.

Definietly true.
Other things can make this easier or harder but with the current setup of the game this is the most important factor.

but that is the fact what pgi dont understand. pgi see only clans win and win and win.
They dont understand that not our mechs are op (they are ******* weak now in 1:1 situations) but our Units are good.

Another extremely annoying problem is, at least for me, that more than 3/4 of the matches are counter attacks, which usually end with Clan wins.
If it is Defend and it is not team vs random group, IS does have a chance. But that is rare.

No, I played 3 games last night when I was on a CLAN pug team and one was vs an IS 12 man unit. All three of the games were very close, but only one of the games ended in a Clan victory and that was mainly because the IS team was disorganized and mostly incompetent. My point is that CLAN tech is no longer OP, IS mechs can now survive long enough to get into brawling range where they are superior to CLANs, so it is Teamwork that wins it. IS needs to coordinate to get into brawling range as quickly as possible and CLANs need to focus on keeping the IS at range.

Individual experiences may vary, of course. I for one have never seen any IS group larger than 4, whereas 4-groups were a minimum in most of my enemy's line ups.

what i'm telling you, is independent of how steadily they can hold the beams on you, you can easily spread the damage on all 3 torsos and both arms in 1 second

and despite the fact Clan gets nerfs because PGI is listening to the newbie IS crybabies. Not the Veteran pilots who on both IS and Clan side; Know teamwork is OP. Newbies just want this game to be another CoD or halo or whatever crap games they play now

Honestly my experience hasn't been that bad. I'm playing as a IS PUGger, which I gather is supposed to be the most hopeless approach of all, yet I seem to be on the winning side in about half the games.

The couple big clanner teams I ran into were kind of tough, but most games don't have those. Most commonly it seems to be PUG-vs-PUG or a small team in one or both teams.

That said, I agree the matchup of a big, organized team vs. a PUG team is a poor one. I see some of the big team players say that the facilities for creating units, better team communication, etc., exist for everyone, and thus it's all fair and square. I disagree on that -- that's equivalent to putting a Division 6 football team against a Division 3 team, and after the inevitable result, telling the Div. 6 team why don't you train twice a day like we do, what's stopping you, git gud k?

A bad matchup is a bad matchup -- it's beside the point whether that's because one of the teams is untalented, stupid, or lazy.

So IMO the big, organized teams would IDEALLY play against other big, organized teams. Whether the player pool is sufficient for that is another matter -- again, for me it's not a huge matter either way, since most games do seem relatively close.

IS experience for this "event" ... long queue times to get stomped. PGI needs to go back to balancing school.

Played 6 games over last 7 hours...mostly against clan pug's with our pug group on TS. Won 5/6. Last 1.5 hours (2130-2300'ish GMT) we have experienced 2 full 12 man crashes to desktop and 3 one or two man crashes requiring re-connection and rejoin ques, so slots in que have gone from 40-17-25-30-35- sod it I'm done for the night.

Basically I have spent Saturday evening watching TV and chatting to 12 random strangers on the internet...not the way I expected to spend the evening, though no the worst

yep had 5-6 crashes in a row. in or around 90 minutes of queuing for no game time. Pain in the ***. Cant be bothered anymore tonight.

And I hear you... 5 hours today and I played maybe 5 games. As the day went on more and more people would crash and place us back further in line. While the line itself isn't that slow, going through it three times for each actual game played adds up.

No crashes here tonight, had an unexpectedly nice experience overall. Took 11 matches to reach 4k, 6 wins, 5 losses - 2 of them stomps, one really bad only 275 DMG. And two VERY good PUG games with people willing to lead and call targets, in one we even devised a strategy everyone adhered to and it worked.

All in all a good event. Thank you PGI.

Tsk Tsk Kursed. That's not very becoming of a NOBLE clan pilot now is it? Calling people like me (who want the game to thrive by making it fun and fair for BOTH sides) "newbie IS crybabies" is kind of harsh don't you think? As I recall over your extensive posts YOU TOO have complained about fairness and balance when it comes to your clan mechs (see here for example)

Calling people 'noobs' or 'crybabies' and the games they play 'crap' certainly doesn't elevate the discussion or give PGI a reason to listen. In fact, THAT is the kinds of polarizing behavior that is killing the game in my opinion. You're calling people 'noobs' who have been around playing mech style games just as long as you, and I would wager FAR longer. Case in point: did you ever play the ORIGINAL mechwarrior? How about Ultrabots? Both Earthsiege games by chance?

I do not want to see this game die because people lose their desire to play. Keep in mind that some of these vast unwashed pugs (or noobs) pay MONEY because they like the game. If they lose all the time, they may decide to quit....and spend no more money. No more money...... no more game. If the Devs shut off the servers, none of us have disks to load this game, so POOF no more mechwarrior and all this discussion is moot.

Think about that next time your clan mechs are nerfed a bit to keep the majority of the playerbase PLAYING.
