The Rka Option For The Cw Event

I am just floating it out there though, seeing how people feel about it.
What IF:
We invited everyone in the FRR Hub into a single unit - lets say the RKA one, for the event? ISEN, 2323, MJ12, SoR, 1stH, SO, RH, etc.
This way we'd all win. Instead of competing with each other, we'd all be working together for the FRR and for each other.

However it'll take an ego shot to all larger teams involved. I am sure many of them are gearing up to get 1st, 2nd or 3rd and proudly display their units logo at the top of the list. There are certainly guys in my own unit who wouldn't be happy if we did this.
Lots of pride and ego would have be subsumed to make this work and I'm not really sure it'll be possible. If the majority of the larger units opt out.. it probably wont be feasible.

I guess it shouldn't surprise me when a post made to a specific sub set of players in the appropriate forum has a post in it from someone who is not the target audience giving there opinion about which no f***s are really given by said concerned players.
But it still does, lol.

I was trying to get the boys - the Reserves back home in time , but...
That leads to my concern/caveat - from getting people into the reserves units, they often had to break a contract - with the same faction - and that cost was high for newer players, but worse- even for the same faction- incurred a three day wait period ( cool down ). Befuddling.
Then, another 3 day minimum cooldown after tukyaid, to get back to the units.
Not insurmountable, but worth considering.

I like the idea, but:

He has some point. This is exactly what a big, well known mercenary unit (that currently owns 166 planet) does. Winning, just by the numbers. And in my opinion is the reason there are, well, how to say... 'conflicting' thoughts about them.
I agree with Mech the Dane but there should be some additional conditions clarified:
1) Only FRR Loyalist units are allowed to paricipate
2) this must not be continued after Tukayyid II

Uh. That doesn't make any sense. lol. This does the opposite of the inflating individual standings. It destroys them. 2323, who posted above, probably has a good shot at getting 1st or 2nd in this event. Their individual unit standing would be pretty impressive if they went it alone. But if they joined up with the RKA their standings would be washed out. Along with ISEN, along with anyone else who joined in.
Rather then inflating any INDIVIDUAL unit or person's standings - this instead allows everyone to be successful and get something out of this event. This allows the small units and lone wolves who wouldn't have a chance, to make it in the top 3, a spot in the top 3!
So yeah, some big units will take an ego hit. But it promotes an environment and play style that gives everyone else a strong chance to win.

When the vikings raided England, they didn't give a sh1t what the English thought. The FRR has a strong and unique community and if we can come together as a community to make this event one that can be successful for everyone involved. Then I think that is a great thing. It is unfortunate that you think it is gaming the system or that you find it offensive or that you think it would hurt people's "rep". But that is your problem not ours.
It isn't against any rule, nor does it even invallidate the spirit of the FRR or CW (ALL THE FRR UNITS BANDED TOGETHER TO FIGHT THE CLANS, OMG HOW COULD THEY!)
Yeah, Community is OP. Sorry, I think our common ancestors from 100,000 years ago figured that out though. You might even call it meta

I don't think there is any reason for units to remain in the Super-Unit after the event. I know ISEN has no plans to.

lol you're that guy who keeps pulling sub-1000 damage CW games and crying about the team. If you're the kind of person who is going to think less of anyone participating I'd call that a bonus.

Thoughts?
It is going to be an epic **** storm over then next couple of days but I kinda like the idea of combining everyone into the RKA as one faction with sub units (being SO, 1stH, 1COG etc etc) We would most likely get #1 faction and #1 unit. I will also be damned if they give us another "Defeat on Tukayyid Banner." That is one giant **** you to put in your cockpit. I think the FRR is a strong community that has seen more action and CW than any other IS house.
Regardless I still think it should be voted on by at least the unit CO's and XO's quickly before the match starts.
To victory or Valhalla!

In fact, when I realised what had happened in that one match, I posted a thread about it in the CW forums, hoping you and the other players would see it, realise what had happened, and perhaps even see some humor in it.

As we are a founder only unit, you guys will all be kicked out after the event and no one can complain ..

I don't think there's any more of a pretentious way to run a unit unless you made one where all members must be earning more than 500k a year IRL.

Really? Founder made this game happen, because they did not care about jumpsniping, balancing, or fancy cockpit items. But because they played the tabletop or previous computer versions as kids and had no doubt they would love this version.
And btw there is a more pretentious way, a unit full of pilots that own a golden mech, it was called "Golden Elite" ..

We still want to offer the opportunity. We know there are many stubborn irregulars in this faction. Since we came here there wasnt one drop without at least one player from a different unit who generally refused any kind of coordination and communication although our unit deployed the majority. We don't care. We prefer to fight our enemies, not our teammates. And if we all find a way to work together, then this faction does have a chance to play an important role.

Just because there is a unit that is even more pretentious than yours does not make BSK any less pretentious. I am not downing founders, I am saying that having what is essentially a founders only club is pretentious as ****. Just because now you are offering to let us non-founder plebs play with you guys for a limited amount of time does not really make it any better either. Also, are you insinuating that I and everyone else who did not put in money upfront to become a founder do not have a love for BT as it was before? because that is really not helping your image here.
