It looks like the Inner Sphere may get a win this time. Any IS pilots not in there yet, get in there. :)

well duh.

Is now has cooler running lasers.
Is now has a huge edge with ballistics, including Gauss.
Is has many mechs that can outrange Clan lasers.
Is has a crapload more hitpoints on structure quirked mechs.
ECM is nerfed hard, so LRM's are much more effective + Quirked like mad.

The tables have turned.

Well no question the balance is a lot closer since the last update not to mention since the last event like this.

Only the last couple of hours are relevant to the event.

Yep, the event can change within moment's notice--especially towards the end. I must say, it would make PGI look bad if IS still lost after being boosted to 250 tons of drop deck.

My PUG matches have been pretty even, very few stomps (I'm playing IS). Biggest factor seems to be either, which side has the biggest group, OR which side is communicating better.

I'm inferring this from, the most uneven battles were when my PUG faced a 6-man or a 12-man group, or when my pug basically did not communicate at all - or simply did not listen to what was communicated.

Balance overall felt decent, felt like Clans had the edge in maneuver and range, IS had the edge in brawls.

Probably the largest problem I felt with the CW matches was the way it took (on average), 11 minutes from clicking 'Defend' to dropping, for an (average) 23 minute battle. 11 minute wait for a 23 minute battle... is there ANY game out there that does this?

Clan Mentality:

Clans have 80% of the zones, its balanced.

IS has 53% of the zones, its an IS roll, omfg, I paid so much money, #pgipleasefix.

Good. Lord.

Only way IS can win is if all our solo pugs quit playing. Then we might win.

If the Clans win this event I'm chalking it up to the big groups. The games have been pretty close and we've been winning more than loosing lately. The change to 250 probably helped a few people but I don't see it as having been necessary.

KCOM+ Boreal Vault=one sided stomp fest. Could there be a better map for Clanners to defend on? They were hitting us at our dropzone from the gates. No amount of communication can fix that.

The real enemy is PGI doing a piss job at balance with absolutely no long-term vision other than "reactively nerf and buff stuff when people yell at us too much about it"

We just play the game.

Seems to be a tug of war with the percentage on the planet (either that, or it intentionally puts a number up just to mess with us all). In any case, although I am cheering for the Clans to win, if IS does manage to push us back, it would be well earned and I salute you.

I still kind of expect a last few hours Clan surge to carry the day but we shall see. Can't say for sure but my gut feeling from other posts is that the big, competitive teams are about 60 to 65 percent clan this event.

When logged off clans were up to 60+%.
the clan puggers went home for the day, and the IS groups are crashing against the remaining big clan unit groups, which of course get to drop non stop as there is 10+ defenders in IS side and no groups in queue on clan attack side.

IMO, the balance is fine, when the population was giant this afternoon(like 20+ attack and 40+ in defend queue, standing in line just to drop) it was tug o war at 50%, but the matches were also a lot more pug vs pug etc, because there were enough players on to change the odds of running into one of the 12 mans.

I hope Russ can see that, and doesnt just look at a result dictated from the last hour of the event when nobody in online anyway.

Man, you're lucky. Out of 20 games I played this weekend, I have been against PUG at most 3 times, once when I was dropped with an 11man premade.
The game is hell bent on giving premades advantage by putting them against PUG.

We've won every game we've dropped tonight. Probably 4-5 for me personally, SRoT is still playing now. Game feels much more balanced now compared to 5 months ago(last time I played)

Edit
I have 1556 points in the challenge just from playing the last hour and half.

Considering that the event ends at the european prime time on a work day, I'd say it's going to be close.
So far it's been in favour for the IS around that time, and swinging towards the clans later on.
