I'll never understand how people are so butthurt over a ~6% nerf and ~3% buff.

They're so marginal changes...

Exactly. Honestly the only clan mech I really drive is the Cheetah. So I guess I don't really notice any nerfs. But from what I saw in CW...Clans did just fine with a 20% penalty after losing 1 torso. That's just me though.

I'm excited to take these out! A jumping Hunchback with multiple AC's is going to be a blast!

Has anyone heard how engines are going to work? Will we have to buy Clan specific XL or STD engines or can we use the IS ones we already own?

Those badges are kinda lackluster imo. Don't really care for the titles either. They just seem too silly for the first clan battlemechs for mwo. Need something more like the other clan waves or the new (old) resistances. I'll prob just not change mine

Pretty much all the iOS style badges have been fugly. They don't match the older ones at all. I like the military medal look of the other Clan ones.

I has a sad that the only variants I want are the pre-order variants (except the Jenner). And those don't offer the CBill boost, pretty much outside of the omnis the CBill boost variants have been the weakest with a few exceptions.

Quirks can save the lackluster C-bill boosting "prime" variants. The MAD-3R(S) looked weak without jump jets, but they made it much tankier than the others with structure bonuses everywhere. It's a good dual/triple AC5 grinder.

It's cheaper to just buy the Orion pack, and get the Jenner, than it is to buy the Orion and Hunchie A La Cart. Plus, then you get faction unlocks and such too!

Ahem. I see now. Thank you.
But thats bullwack.
I dont want the other items, and 60 dollars is retail on a AAA game, just not enough content here for that sum.
Besides the marauder is 20 bucks.
Wallet stays shut.

Well those badges/titles really are ranging somewhere from uninspired to silly imho. I know they got to be distinguishable at small display... but this?

On a more serious note I can imagine that the art department has a lot more important things to do right now - and I hope they have not wasted so much time on the - to me - out-of-place/out-of-battletech-universe looking phoenix cockpit items - so maybe these will get a makeover someday for those players who were thinking about using those badges/titles.

PGI just recently has shown they can do a lot better with the redone resistance badges! So it can only be because of to few artists with to much work on their hands. And I can get over with some poor titles/patches only a few would have used anyway if they focus on camo patterns, parade patterns and functional, plain cockpits. Those are the things we players spend our lives in.

I cancelled my order a few weeks ago. Not spending a dim until there are some REAL additions to MWO. I really don't care about all the new mechs.

So, if I buy it now before the patch I'll get everything minus the Early adopter variant?

Thanks,
Fulgar

So... anyone else gonna run their Jenner IIC with 6 CSRM6 so they can do 72 damage in alpha and alpha twice without overheating for a grand total of 144 damage in less than 5 seconds on mech that's fast enough to boom and zoom effectively.

Sounds terrible, honestly. Really hot and really slow or really hot and no ammo. 6 tons of ammo (max 600 dmg potential) with a cXL225 (112.0 kph). 3.5 tons of ammo with cXL250 (124.4 kph).

Clan builds that boat heatsinks got much better, because they're dissipating the heat from those big alphas more quickly, giving them more staying power. Even if the cap's lower, getting rid of more heat more quickly helps keep a build under that heat cap more reliably. My Hellbringers certainly performed better.

Edit: tweaked for wording

Clan tech, Clan engines. Will have to buy them, as you can't remove engines from the Omni's.

Nope.

My Oxide runs an XL280, endo, ferro. To fit 4 SRM4, 5 tons of ammo.

So I can run 6 cSRM6 with 4 tons of ammo with no problem. But since clan ferro is lighter I can probably run 6 cSRM6 with 4.5 tons of ammo.

Now it will run hot but it's alpha generates 28.2 heat (more like 24 if you don't invoke ghost heat) with just built in doubles that means you can alpha twice and run off to cool down without much trouble.

This is not an anti light build. It's an anti assault an anti heavy assassin mech.

So do the boomboxes get hit with ghost heat when running their stock loadouts?

Because that would be stupid.

Yes... but it's not stupid o.o I run dual UAC20s on my Cauldron Born, just alternating fire it is a monster of a mech.

I wasn't around when the preorder bonuses were available (took a break for a while). Thinking about dropping the $80 for the top pack then I read all about how I would be missing out on the cosmetic crap (no big deal) but also the 4 extra unique variants plus mech bays (big deal).

I'm sure your preorder bonuses convinced a few people to buy in July rather than December, but I guarantee it's nowhere near the amount of people that looked at what you can no longer get and closed their wallet between Aug 1st and forevermore.

Maybe the genius handling the marketing can ask why Wal Mart doesn't advertise in July what kind of awesome bonus stuff you could have got if you purchased on boxing day. "If you bought this PS4 on boxing day it could have come with 4 extra free games but now you can buy the same PS4 with no extra games for the same price!!!"

Here's some marketing 101 tips from a friendly consumer who has spent way too much on FTP games.

1) Keep your preorder bonuses active for the entire period of time leading up to the release. This will get you more sales rather than turning away potential buyers for the 4 months leading up to release.

2) Keep the preorder bonuses to cosmetic items only. This will get you more sales because people will have a much easier time disregarding some cosmetics they missed out on rather than unique mech variants. Better overall sales for years after release.

3) For heavens sake stop advertising preorder bonuses that are impossible to get now. See my Wal mart example above... I shouldn't even need to say this.

Now that PGI convinced me I'd be an idiot to buy the origins pack now I will just have to see if the game can keep my interest without shiny new mechs until the next preorder packs come... or I might get bored again and miss that preorder window and repeat the cycle until they've lost another player (the kind that doesn't hesitate to spend a lot of money under normal circumstances).
