For stats part2, can you add to the number of players by total match score table? increase it by 1k after the challenge 4k up to say 30k or higher match score? Just to see how many high performers there were.

Total Matches (per player per match): 182921

Ain't this number supposed be aliquot of 24?

Anyways, the average number of drops per player is 182921/14322 = 12.77
So I divide @sixpack 's numbers by this and get...

The average winrate by faction:
  • Davion: 33.4%
  • Kurita: 36.9%
  • Liao: 45,9%
  • Marik: 32.3%
  • Rasalhague: 42.8%
  • Steiner: 44.1%
  • ClanSmokeJaguar: 50.4%
  • ClanJadeFalcon: 64.5%
  • ClanWolf: 60%
  • ClanGhostBear: 51.5%

So we can assume that slightly over 12,000 people played at least one game in the event..

The real stats I want to see here are group, map, and gamemode stats. I'm reasonably certain you'll see counter attack wins significantly skewed to the clans, particularly on maps like Boreal Vault.

For mech balance, I think it was pretty even. Maps on the other hand seemed to be wildly skewed in some cases, particularly with pugs

Also of note is how many clanners were in larger groups compared to IS members or vise versa

I don't think there were any triggers set to count above 4k. Also CW match score is far not the best parameter to represent the ones performance.

Sorry Tbolt usage was actually 43046 for the event and 44528 for Timby's so not a huge difference but he was correct about your math.

I still don't know what math you guys are talking about. I didn't include any numbers in my post (aside from saying that I drove three Marauders). I did mention something about Clan mech choices, but clearly that can't be it since you guys keep bringing up IS stuff, specifically T-bowls, which are entirely irrelevant to anything in my post. I certainly didn't do any calculations, merely listing the mechs in the Clan Top 20 that weren't Adders (which I'm not sure why they were taken, but such are the vagaries of crowd dynamics). In that regard, my initial point stands, that the vast majority of the Clan Top 20 were entirely predictable.

Well waddya know. Top 20 Clan Mechs are actually just 5 mechs. Timber/Hellbringer/Stormcrow/Ebon/Cheetah....all that's ever used. With an Adder and Executioner every
once in a while.

Yea, those are the only stats I really care to see. No real surprises in these stats, just new mechs really and everything else the same as last time, for the most part.

Will thank PGI for taking whatever time it took to put all this together again for us, so, thank you.

Points per player:
  • Davion: 6826:1601 = 4.26
  • Kurita: 6960:1477 = 4.71
  • Liao: 3602:614 = 5.87
  • Marik: 2796:678 = 4.12
  • Rasalhague: 10403:1905 = 5.46
  • Steiner: 9794:1740 = 5.63
  • ClanSmokeJaguar: 5229:812 = 6.43
  • ClanJadeFalcon: 16252:1974 =8.23
  • ClanWolf: 20742:2704 = 7.67
  • ClanGhostBear: 8351:1269 = 6.58
So with this metric the ones that truly deserve tukayyid and earth are Jade Falcon. And CSJ performed worst of the clans in this event. (Not taking all the other factors in to account, like merc units and longer wait times for IS players)

Loved the event, and love seeing this data as well! We were speculating WILDLY in my unit as to how the FRR guys were keeping ahead of us, and how we managed to keep falling out of first place in our own faction. Numbers on Unit drops, wins, unit membership participating, maps and battle modes are something I'm chomping at the bit to see.

I don't think we'd see any stats that require filtering the database. Any kinds of summaring either parameter but not what you're asking.

But I've got interested in your question and found this screenshot:

It's somewhere at the last minutes of event, it's not accurate but I didn't find any better.

So, assuming that maps are cycling as usual Boreal-Sulfur-Hellbore-Grim-Emerald-Vitric - repeat, we'll have:

Sectors controlled by Clans:
Boreal - 7 (11)
Sulfur - 9 (11)
Hellbore - 8 (11)
Grim - 5 (10)
Emerald - 5 (10)
Vitric - 4 (10)

Which proves your point: clans are better on long range/cold maps and worse on brawling/hot ones.

Also, number of matches per map per slot is going to be:
  • EMERALD TAIGA: 29745/10 = 2974.5
  • VICTRIC FORGE: 28453/10 = 2845.3
  • BOREAL VAULT: 32940/11 = 2994.5
  • SULFUROUS RIFT: 30338/11 = 2758
  • HELLEBORE SPRINGS: 30785/11 = 2798.6
  • GRIM PORTICO: 30660/10 = 3066
Which means that Grim is the easiest one to rush and Sulfur is the hardest (size really matters).

Well, no surprises on Clan mech use, almost everything was Hankyu, Ryoken, Mad Cat, Loki, or Cauldron Born. I certainly contributed to the Marauder count - after the tonnage bump I was running 3, with a PB Locust as ECM filler.

You just named like half of our mechs.

Looks like Maurader went near-meta if not meta.

Not a single Clan Assault in the Top 20.

1 light (best in class), 1 medium (best in class), and 3 heavies (best in class, best ECM carrier, and 2nd best in class). That's not even a third of your mech options.

About 37000 timbys vs about 34000 tbolts, is anyone really surprised?

Edit did more math:Looks like roughly 37000 timbys 40000 ebjs, 32000 hell bringers, 20000 stormcrows, and 21000 cheetahs. The only surprise on this list is the lone adder at 6600 lol. Is only had 32000 thunderbolts to compete with that. The rest are all over the board except for 26000 marauders many of which were being leveled up I'm sure, lol

I think you left off a few variants.

1st place: 44,528 timberwolves vs 43,046 thunderbolts

2nd place: 38,921 ebon jaguars vs 25,595 marauders

*eyebrow rising*
If this is the case, i'm not so sure. Going through most played IS Mechs I don't see the heavy ranged quirked like a Cicada X5 (and man they are so anoying) or the BLR-1S or others with >25% range on energie weapons.

What it tells me IS doesn't used their range advantage. But instead leveled their new jewels marauders. And over all bring the mechs into their drop decks what are old rabbits like Stalker 4Ns with 10% range quirke or Thunderbolts which also did got some nerf bat hits, but are fine i think. Also you see many Champion Mechs like a Raven 3L (C) or the TDR9 SE (C) ord TBR-C (C). So i would say that still many players couldn't afford fully customized drop decks and fitted in free giftet mechs by PGI to fill up the drop deck. I did so to when I played on event start for IS.

Therefore it proves more the point that IS still used not optimized drop decks, while clanside has the old workhorses, which can not be avoided, if you do not wanna mess up your drop deck, with underperformers caused by "fixed equipment" which are not customizeable and lack for example in loadout tonnage/mech tonnage.

Marauder is only in because of leveling. Clan Assaults arn't in because you get maximum one into into a dropdeck. The first "usefull Dropdeck starts out with 2 timber or even more lighter mechs that could be 2 times in a dropdeck and goes down to 4 SCRs if you choose so.

I entered the stats into a spreadsheet and calculated percentages, average earnings, totaled mech counts according to chassis instead of variant, etc.:

Hopefully somebody will find this helpful.
