Nope big red indicator on the screen isn't a reason for many to turn around.

It's actually a little buggy in my experience. Same thing with sounds.Sometimes the only indicator is a sudden red side torso on the paper doll. Just a tad infuriating.

I am not new and most of the time do not see anything that really looks like a hack.

I do know I had 2 matches in the past several days where I know for a fact I was behind a building/object and the part of my Mech right next to the building/object got shot as if the shot passed through the building/object.

Just 2 matches out of several, still......

I also reported sites with hacks I found once so there have been hacks and I could see attempts still being tried by hackers.

Hi pilots, it's close a month I play MWO and I saw some players crying about hacks used by other players.
The say they "ghost" themselves to come behind other players and free kill em.
I always answer that, in my opinion, no hack is used: cos first of all playing on Steam, I guess there is an anti-hack system and second... maybe I am naive, but I think players don't have fun if they have a free victory.
Oh and there is a camouflage too. I don't know what it does, but the name makes me think that is something to hide the mech to enemies.
Pls, i wish U could tell me that I am right, that the team with better skill and better teamplay wins and not the one less fair...

Always Steiner,

Welcome to MWO and yes you are correct. Its not hacking

Any mech of any size, regardless if it has ECM or not can sneak up behind you and not show up on radar.

The only way an enemy mech shows up on radar, is if someone on your team has a visual sighting of the enemy and presses R to target them, Then the enemy mechs show up as red marks on your map.

So it is entirely possible for a fat boy Dire Wolf (a whopping 100 tons of melt your face off mech) to walk right up behind you and blast your back out without ever showing up on the radar because nobody is Looking at it to press R.

Although there are modules that help detect mechs sneaking up on you. Like Seismic Sensor. It detects movement around you and gives you a red pulsing signal on your mini map to help alert you to nearby enemies.

But note that Seismic Sensor only works if you are not moving yourself. You have to be standing still for it to work. Pretty handy for LRM boats though.

Hope that helps

Happy Hunting!

Hi Aresye, was a nice game in CW where we almost beat some KComs with a Pug group. You were doing a good job leading the drop. I had just switched over from Clans and am still getting used to piloting IS machines once more; next time I will be more helpfull Posted Image

You talking about the one on Sulfurous Rift? That was a pretty awesome match :D

A really experienced pilot may do very well and may not be cheating and may just have started a new account.

In this case report anyway. Just click on the name on the tab/team screen. Just to be sure. Posted Image

This is a true story. The first time I seen someone match my score on the galaxy/faction wars, he was on my team. I thought he may have been hacking so I remembered his name. He got 13 kills in a single match. He was later perma banned for hacking. I have since not bothered to remember any names and let the ban system take care of it.

I do see hackers/aim botters rarely, that I can be sure of. Only four times in the last few months. 2 times it was a health hack that may or may not have been intentional and both times it was vrs a clan premade team on the galaxy map.

Do you have proof of this?

Health hack? Wut?

Sounds to me like you dont understand hit reg and any other ping related issues and just assume its HACKS.

Keep that tin foil hat on bud, your really are something. Just make up new hacks each day to make you feel better at night i guess?

Where is your a health hack even exits? All of that is server side dude, so please explain to me who is so good they are hacking the servers.

Saying 100% doesn't mean hes wrong. He could be of course and has to be able to deal with that and the likelihood of that.

Also If I alpha 3 LPL, 3 times into a storm crow CT standing still not firing directly in front of my mech while I am standing still and no damage registers. Then I can be 100% sure of a "health" hack.

I know the damage wasn't registering because one of them basically told me it wasn't. I also hope he doesn't get any trouble for it.

Basically one of the other team ran up to my mech away from the fight a bit. Stopped, then ran away. Not taking any damage.

wow....jut wow!

HIT REG is a B%$#H, but you should really learn something about the internet. I also took a AC20 to the arm of my IIC Jenner A and it did about 8 pts of dmg under 145m, HACKS!

No Bad Hit reg and an unlucky pilots in the MAD. Its not black magic or voodoo, its just some wonky stuff that happens with hit reg and yea it sucks when you know you should have killed it.

I dumped 3, 6 sm pulse laser alphas into the back of an already crit BJ friday night, he was red when i started and just walked away from me while i shot him...never once moving his back. Hit reg was not my friend that day....or the Structure quirks on BJ are just way to much.

I blame hitboxes and laggy players in lights as well as the module gap with new players.

Probably new players who don't know what ECM is think its a hack.

or some habitual wannabe tryhards who still can't accept they got owned because they weren't as good as they like to believe.

been doing the what mech challenge so it is a new account tier 5. as i got victors i have been a terror on unsuspecting mechs that don't check their back sides. the first time some of them notice me is when i am 100m away and put 3 srm2s a pair of ml and an ac20 into their back. heck i can normally get 2 alphas in before the turn around. even better is if i let a bunch of lrms land as i fire. used to do the same thing in the Yen-Lo-Wang or latter in a cn9ah

the b33f has this vid about the spooky atlas which is pretty much explains how it works

Anyone who thinks there arent hacks is a ******. Anyone who defends them, or denies beyond their belief probably has friends or hacks themselves.

If you use hacks, you are piece of **** and should have your ip banned, and beaten irl. You are scum of the earth and always will be. It says a lot about your morals and how much of a coward you are. You cant earn **** on your own.

I find them to be quite popular, I see it all the time. Expecially wall hackers, they are at all levels of the game.

Its what you get when you dont have a program to catch them use flash w/cry engine.

Make personal attacks on someone who hates hacks, go ahead, accuse me of being a noob or tell me to get "good or better" ill wreck you anyday scrub. Its a face they are here, they have caught people before. The proof is in the pudding. AKA MODERATEPUDDING Beefs girlfriend who they all thought was cheating but never said anything

You dont think these people made new accounts in a game they were addicted to? They were the only 64 people?

AKA VOLTRON

You guys keep saying you "SEE IT ALL THE TIME"

where is your proof? Taken screenshots? Have video evidence? Tried sending in a report?

Its not an easy thing to accept that other are better then you, especially in a competitive game like this. Yes there are such a things as HACKS, but they are not prevalent in this game like most of your think they are. Aim botting being the biggest one because we already have many forms of wall hack available for free in the game, like Seismic sensor or even a simple UAV.

Not knowing how things works often makes them seem magical...i assure you it is not.

Again, if you think cheating is so wide spread in this game why do you even play? IF you dont cheat then why play with a "game full of cheaters?"

I just dont understand the logic....why show up to a game you think everyone is not playing by the rules at? But you intend to?

Since you are such a hacking aficionado, why dont you tell me, PM me, who you think hacks? Lets hear it...i will send you my email if you want and then we can inform PGI and let them sort it out right?

They found Aim botters and hackers before, why do you think they cant now?

Do you have proof of this? = yes players have sent in hundreds of screenshots and hundreds of fraps and other evidence that players are hacking MWO with wall hacks , speed hacks , aim-bots , and a trainer hack . But PGI has no real anti hack program running in MWO you can search resident memory when the game is running pull all the info on what MWO runs and it has no hack program installed or running to prevent any of these hacks.

Plus you have like 15 known exploits that PGI has fixed like 2.

So yes the proof has been sent to PGI over the 3 years they have been used by individuals and comp teams the only way to really combat hacking and exploiting is players and units turning this players in to PGI regardless if they lose games.

Do they not have one? I have never heard an official statement either way, i assume no but yea thats not a great assumption. Or have they just not told anyone anything about it because its not our business really. What they use to find hackers i dont think has to be public knowledge. Quite the opposite actually...letting everyone know how you find them means the hackers have information to use against you in hiding themselves.

Ya, "false-flags" dont exist unless you have proof. Im out, cant argue with people that ignore facts. This is a discussion board, this is my opinion, there is proof they exist. You can easily go find a hack yourself if you dont believe me.

mini radar doesn't work a perfect 360 , if you hide behind a rock and don't move or torso twist its easy for a light, and not very difficult for other mechs to circle around out of sight and kick a lone mechs ***
