It just seems that clans seem a bit too powerful right now. I find that they have a distinct range advantage and their weapons are just too powerful given their weight advantage. The clan gauss as an example is exactly the same as an IS gauss but is lighter! This is really unfair and I was thinking that as a community we could come together to give the clans some justified nerfs.

Here are some ideas I have:

1) Lets cut down the clan laser range by a further 30% this should bring the clan lasers almost exactly in line with the IS while giving the clans a small advantage.

2) The clan gauss should be given a reduced rate of fire to justify the tonnage advantage.

3) The clan lrm and srms should have their spread and cooldown increased to justify there reduced tonnage.

4) Clan autocannons should have their damage reduced slightly so they are brought in line with the IS clans

5) To bring them further clan armor values should be doubled. This will help with our far....er I mean balance and make it so that clans survive for much longer.

I think that together, as a community we should try implementing these changes to help the overall balance of the game.

It is true that with a UAC/20, clans can achieve very high burst damage in close quarters from peek and poke tactics. I have to admit even as a Clanner that GreenDuck has something here with this argument.

Just need to nerf the 60+ long range laser alphas. After this I think clans would be in a good place with a few needing more buffs.

How about these?

All Clan weapons should be mounted on the backs of their 'mechs so they only shoot backwards.

Clan 'mechs could have no speed, they could only move using jumpjets.

Clan LRMs should only have a range of 100m only. We all know Clan LRMs are OP.

Clan lasers could not be effective within 100m . We know that the Clans think it dishonorable to fight hand-to-hand.

Clans could have to lock onto one target and then they have to fight that one 'mech until it is dead - we all know Clans prefer to fight one on one.

Clans need more heat penalty, their burn time is way to short and cool down time grossly quick.

I totally agree. Clans are so OP. I only win 9/10 CW matches against them. I WANT 100% VICTORY!!!!

Clan ammo could spontaneously explode, maybe a 20% chance per second. That would make them less OP.

Whoa there. I'm the clanner always talking about balance. Why am I one of the few taking this seriously? Greenduck really does have some points here. Clan UAC/20 is extremely powerful, especially with the 30% jam chance reduction. It is a very valid point that this 12t, 8 crit slot weapon system has a 40 point burst every 4 seconds. We should consider that even with the clans in a difficult position now that they still have some overpowered options that need to be addressed -- otherwise when clans get buffed again to correct certain unbalances now, we run the risk of putting clans in a position to absolutely dominate the IS and that would not be fun for anyone.
