Beyond this however, I have no plans to spend anymore money here. I will consider buying the Razer Artemis, if it's not too far off down the road.

I've been buying games before I've ever played a single bit of them for well over a decade. This is not really any different aside from the fact that I'm essentially going 'look i was going to probably spend this much on the game anyways so i'll just spend it now'.

I think the distinction is simpler:
- I'm in school. I'm always short on cash.
- I have a job. I can pay some money to support my hobbies without breaking the bank.

Except that we have seen her picture, and she is damn sexy, and we've talked to her and she sounds cooler than anyone else we know, plus she's famous.
The only catch is we haven't had sex with her yet.
Now that sounds crazy for a marriage, but hey, some people do that stuff...
This is just a days work so I'll take my chances.

I don't like blind dates, blind internet dates so therefore I don't blind marriage and thats horrible analogy to blind marriage. At least you get somebody that will love you and do the dishes/laundry with the latter.
I imagine a new wife looking at her husband and say "But in my country the husband does the dishes and cooks! That's why I married you!"

2) The founders program is a one time offer and if the game is 'kick ***" it will be a great investment. If not then it (the investment) will be the similar to many other games that didn't work out.
3) I understand the economics of commercial software deveolpment (I was a developer myself). The company needs to be profitable and to be able to improve the game to equal to what we all want. That takes up-front capital.
4) No other way to get the founders mechs. Similar to what you get when completing the training course in WoT, they will be great C-Bill earners.
5) There are more reasons, but this is enough for me.

I think the fact that the dev's put out a founders option showed how much faith they have in what they're doing. If the game is terrible and people walk away in droves, it would be a huge hit to their reputation and probably affect anything they do in the future.
Sure, the above scenario may happen. But, I bet $120 it won't.

I've always gotten into MMO's a couple years after release and seen all the folks with the cool stuff that I'll never get.
It'll be nice to drop that founders mech into a battle a couple years from now, and stand out.
That, and 120 bucks isn't THAT big a deal. (I spend that much on a lunch with my family)
