It is my Wing Commander name, (yes I am old), but when I found the registration was open I was drunk and misspelled it.

my call sign is pretty obvious. I live on a dead end. Actually i'm in Washington state now, but this state is part of the original Oregon Country.

I took my name from one of the first games I played on PC called Dark Omen back in 1998 when I was still a kid. You were the commander of a mercenary company who went from one blood bath to another killing orks, goblins and undead for the Empire. Commander Morgan Bernhardt was just an awesome character who cared mostly for gold in the beginning but he later develops into a slightly better person that helps other people. Of course, he still accepted their gratitude and thanks from the people he saved in the form of round objects that glitter and fill coin purses. Ever since whenever I needed a name online I always use Bernhardt or Commander Bernhardt.

Every one thinks it's from Fullmetal Jacket, yes I get the line told to me all the time in games. I wasn't even in the Marines, went Navy. It's actualy from one of Houston local heavy metal bands that been around for ever and a day. Back in the early 90's (when I was in HS) I got one of there shirts and on the back it says "Sir Texas Sir" with Texas Farm road 666 on the front (the farm road sign is real road and still to this day a symble of theres). I still have the shirt and wear it once in a while when I go out.

(This post can also be found in the beta off-topic forums in a similar thread)

Krunch was a nickname I was given my freshman year of college.
It involved a mispronunciation of my real name (Keith).
Someone kept calling me "Heath". When I explained that it wasn't my name, he said he liked "Heath" better.
He said it reminded him of "Heath bar crunch". The crunch part of the jingle stuck somehow, and my dorm mates started calling me "Crunch".
I simply changed the first letter to reflect my real name. All this on my second day of college.

I took this nickname in stride and decided to use it as my new online handle for various games.

I used to play alot of flight sims but i was terrible at them (who cares) so people started calling me 'Crash' (down, chaos, calamity, Nburn) have all be suffixes i used - i've tried to carry it over to other games, and usually i get one of them, but they appear to be a popular names. Quake 3 made my life when they had a premade toon named Crash. Anyway as that was taken i opted for a slightly more humorous name ..and here you go OverSizedNinja (the mech not me).

When it said pilot name I figured it meant a real name so I picked a rather unique one (In latin style, M as the praenomen, "Marcus", Jordanus (My first name in latin) and Sicarius as the cognomen, which means Assassin, just picked it because of the words I threw into the translator it sounded the best), didn't realize most people just picked a random screen name.

I got my name from the Ground Control series originally from Sierra when they were still a company. In game there were two factions, the general terran faction and another known as the Order of the New Dawn. The game was a RTS which involved equiping and mobilizing a detachment of tanks. Each race had it's own unique technology and the games were typically quick and tactical. Deacon's were the commanding officer in charge of each detachment for the Order of the New Dawn.

A: I have no skin.
B: The "Skinless" band members lived 25 minutes from me back in the 90s.
C: Terminator 2 and Skinless Frank from Hellraiser played a role in choosing the name.
D: Im obligated to buy skins from PGI that are red, black and show skeletons..
E: Being the guy with no skin slaughtering people yelling "toastyyy!" in a mock Mortal Kombat voice.

I chose my Mechwarrior name because it was short for my real name William (though I mostly go by Will). The 9761 part came from 7th grade back in 2008 in middle school. Me, my friends, and my classmates were playing on a website called Whyville in Computer Class. When I was creating an account, I always went by Will and some numbers, but I was horrible with remembering numbers. Finally, I made up random numbers like 9761 and memorized it so much, it became my personal username. Thus, Will9761 was born.

Gothmog is a Tolkien name. He is a balrog, a great fire demon of the First Age, slaying some famous Elven heroes and finally killed by one of them. 'Durin's bane' in LOTR is the last surviving balrog. Gothmog is one of the greatest chiefs of Melkor, Master of Arda, the Dark Lord. Therefore his colours are black, red and yellow. Sometimes he is crying 'Worship MELKOR!', and you should do so, it would be better for you...

Planetswag came along strangely, to say the least. I kept my username from Trackmania United. My friends and I were all calling ourselves hipster/swagtard names, so this one came up.

Also Swag must be a planet in a beyond-the-periphery battletech solar system somewhere :D .

I had 10,000 monkeys type random letters on typewriters until they found a name that I liked.
