An omnimech had a baby with a god damn fighter jet! It's going to be slow, but it's going to have an insane amount of firepower. There's a Cougar variant that has a gauss rifle! No big deal? Well, it also has five frickin CERMLs as "backup weapons". That's the same armament you see on Gargoyles and Executioners!
Oh hello, I'm a flying 35 ton mech with 50 point alpha strike.
For five tons heavier, you can get the Pouncer - like the Cougar, it is another Puma knock-off, and this one is actually in-timeline (with the Prime, A, B, C, and D configs)!

The Mad Cat Mk.II is unlikely to ever happen in MWO due to being so far out-of-timeline, so the OP would be better-off asking for a Turkina (a slightly-heavier & conceptually-close OmniMech, where the right combination of OmniPods can come close to replicating the Mk.II's loadout) or a Supernova (another BattleMech of the same tonnage as the Mk.II, for which PGI would have to create two variants).

Same. The Dire is obsolete due to being so damned slow - acceleration, deceleration, climb, top speed and torso twist (both speed of and degree of...).
Add to that the barn-on-legs target profile of the CT and yeah, I'm looking to shed some weight also.

And on what do you base your assertion?
Russ specifically addressed the timeline in the 09/10/2015 Town Hall podcast (at the 39:28 mark in this clip, to the 42:04 mark, as well as under "Q10" in the summary posted here) - specifically, he states that they are not finished with the Clan Invasion era, and that they want to see multiple months of the Clan Invasion play out before moving further into the timeline (or allowing for multiple timelines).
So...
1.) Do you have a more-recent statement from Russ, Paul, (maybe) Bryan, or any other authority at PGI indicating that PGI has abandoned the timeline concept? If so, then provide a link.
2.) Are you, yourself, an employee of PGI who would have the authority to make such a decision?
3.) Do you own a sufficiently-large interest in PGI, such that you hold sway over the company's decisions?
Unless and until one of those three things is demonstrated to be true, your assertion doesn't exactly carry much (really, any) weight AND can safely be declared to be demonstrably false.

Like the IICs it would probably be an 'exception'. Allowed to equip the IS weaponry but still need to use Clan DHS, Engines, etc.
