To extend that, then when you start a push, you have to continue it? Because otherwise, you will turn tail to not die. In that instant, you are not participating. How absurd does this have to go?

I think we all know where the line is for the most part, don't be coy. And I am sure PGI has a line in their mind.

99.9% of the time it is obvious when someone is not participating.

Every game should meet in the middle and line up, 18 century style, fire all weapons and see who wins, no tactics every.

Denies wanting devs to intervene.

Asks devs to intervene.

With this sort of system a mech would need to move at least occasionally to not get picked up by the enemy's dropship ...

Again, no. It's a system designed to discourage hiding, whether legitimate or not. I'd rather the onus of finding the enemy be placed on the player.

And if people are running around like headless chickens trying to find the enemy, well, they're doing it wrong!

This can all be easily settled by PGI flatly declaring that players should just report for execution, no exceptions. But until then ...

so true Mystere,. Having that system would allow them to cheat while also hampering tactics like ones we have been talking about.

Acually Ted... I think very few who are losing their mud over hiding know where the line is.

Samurai mech demands ninja mech come out into the open and fight him. Ignores nature of ninja mech and oblivious to hypocrisy of demand.

Or to quote another classic fight banter:
Fight fair!
Pirate.

But it doesn't matter really, does it? If the player is still playing and the other player reports them they will eventually get told where the line is. If they continue to abuse the reporting system then they will risk getting the banhammer.

Still it is pathetic that people want protection for wasting other people's time and general ***-hattery. Even more perplexing because you get points for trying, no matter how pathetic the effort. But no, so and so thinks that just because their team sucked and all died in 5 minutes it is okay to pout in a corner shutdown just to "show them". Show them what?

I have been the last man standing countless times and have never heard over the comms, "get in the battle!" or "is he still fighting". It has always been obvious what I am up to and I enjoy the cheers and adulation I get from both teams with each last man standing kill. The lols I get when, after losing both arms and all weapons, I spin up to ramming speed and head towards the nearest mech are worth it.

If there was salvage in the game I would think differently. Until then, get over yourself and lose some pixels.

Ted... I would rather leave points on the table and have a worse score if it throws some ritalin fueled monster guzzling entitlment junkie into an apoplectic fit spawned stroke by not giving them the kill for free.  It is a moral victory to survive and on these jailcell sized maps that is not always easy to do.  This is not about trolling.  This is about ending enablementof lazy players
Whats more i never see this degree of tantrum throwing in WOWS where they have bigger maps and technically all ships can stealth thanks to inherant detection range.  The players just go and find tthem.

If you are so worried about "time" being "waited", you can simply disconnect and drop in a new match in another mech.

You have to remember that there is a lot of losers who have to use the same mech over and over again.

Then there is always the Losers who think it is their duty to moderate.

Normally its the same jerk, but u never know.

Considering some people here seem to actually want players to report for execution, I say let's give it to them via a keyboard command, but with an animation in which the pilot is dragged out of the Mech, hands tied behind the back, forced to kneel, before finally being shot in the back of the head with a pistol. I want that in very graphic and heart wrenching detail.

Legit thought: could build a reputation system into cw where you capture legged and intact mechs' pilots, you can execute or ransom them, and a % meter. Basically you either get the intact value of the mechs or a set ransom value depending on what you/your group choose. The question would be, who'd try to keep a 0% execute rate and who's go for broke and rage quit a corp/clan group if they let someone ransom off for less cbills when it turns out the mech has a huge xl engine that wasn't touched in combat xD

LOL! I was not even thinking about a ransom system. But, that's a good idea.

But since you asked, I doubt I'd keep a 0% execution rate. Posted Image

Some people at that point dont want cbills or ransom... They want revenge for being denied the kill.

The light who fights and runs away lives to core your a$$ another day. Anyone who has faced the enemy, dealt and taken damage, has participated. End of story.
