Also, I see alot of people asking for the turkina, if you ask for it, be sure to tell russ you expect the thing to move way faster than it does stock, thats important, and it better jump.

No he's right. The turkina moves 52 kph. Its got a 285 xl so even though its 5 tons lighter its just as slow and with its hard points and hard wired jumpjets its strictly worse than the direwolf. Remember its an omnimech, its engine is locked.

Most of our mediums have low pod space already, i just want a 40 tonner that is decent.

Do you understand that if the speed is the same (Dire Wolf and Turkina both go the same speed) the maneuverability is identical?
Night Gyr,Warhawk and Kodiak (w/400XL) will all go 70 kph, and have the same agility.
So a Highlander that goes 52 kph will have the same agility as an Atlas or King Crab that goes 52.
Does that make sense? There is no agility benefit from dropping tonnage if you still go the same speed. Torso twist speed, turn rate, etc are all the same.

NO it wont, Maneuverability in this game is tied to engine size. Its doesn't have a larger engine then the DWF nor will its movmentype be different so it wont climb hills better and wont twist faster or anything like that.
Its a gimped DWF...

The Night Gyr can sub for the Linebacker, but it's a far less interesting mech.

The Ares isn't a canon omnimech. It was created by MekTek for its unofficial MW4 expansions. The Linebacker would be an interesting fast heavy to have though.
The Mad Cat Mk. II and the Cougar are out of the time window Russ requested.
The Conjurer is basically a Wolverine IIC, which I think is fine as I like the Wolverine.

Woodsman also because it has Pirate/Forbidden clan lore.

But then quirks, because the PeaceDove gets some, doesn't it?
Just so you don't get his hopes up. HGN gets massive ones.

Yeah I was ignoring quirks just to get my point across because I think he thinks that a lighter mech going the same speed has more agility.
I guess the Turkina has an ECM variant as well, but I feel the Kingfisher would be a better fit to get ECM. All they would have to do is trade the HAG30 for a standard Gauss rifle and extra ton of ammo.

17.5 tons of podspace on a 65 tonner? **** that noise. Your mech is garbage.
Id rather have the night gyr stuffed up my rear then have a linebacker put in the game, its useless.
The Night Gyr has 38 tons of podspace AFTER jumpjets and AFTER FULL ARMOR.

I would love to have the Kodiak in game, but Russ was asking for Omnis, so that means pretty much the Turkina, or Kingfisher for this timeline. Maybe the Kingfisher would be better since it has a standard engine, though.

Kodiak is probably going to be a separate single pack. I was just trying to express to you that agility is tied to speed, and since the Turkina is no faster than the Dire, it will be just as agile.
I feel like the Kingfisher offers more of something different, whereas the Turkina is too similar to the Dire Wolf, just not quite as good. I'm sure it wouldn't even be bad, its just too similar, and I think it would be cool to have something a little different. Kingfisher is also a better candidate for getting ECM in my opinion.

Just a chip off the legs for the Night Gyr. Perfect for dual gauss + 6 tons and 4 ER MLs and 4 extra DHS.

Viper - amazing maneuverability, it's a classic, and we need a 40-tonner.
Grizzly - I love the Summoner, but we need a 70-tonne 'Mech that isn't gimped with the Omni restrictions. The Grizzly's a solid heavy BattleMech. If it needs to be an Omni, then the Night Gyr is the only logical choice. The Linebacker would be just another 65-tonner.
Kingfisher - It'll fill the 90-tonne slot nicely. Solid hitter, no XL.

He said "ideally" and frankly both the Kingfisher and Turkina are so bad that we should probably assume that there is no ideal 4 mechs that meet his ideal criteria.
