Halo map... what was that Halo map... can't remember if it was, it was Reach, the last one I played. A Reach map that was long and flatish and open with trenches and holes and little else. Yeah, new map reminds me of something I can't remember. And Hoth.

Weapon damage feedback, I'm placing money on more information based on damage dealt or received?

Again: they already discussed how they were changing the laser graphic to represent damage done at a given range.

And that they were adding it in this patch.

Correct. But by not defining what weapons, and just using "weapons" really does read as meaning all weapons. There is no picking apart of anything........

So where you concerned that the next patch would be Dec 19th? Because it said that. Despite Russ saying previously that the next patch would be Jan 19th.

They already told us what they were doing, and that it was going in this patch.

From the road map:

Quote

New Laser Visuals and changes to Range value displays
Laser visuals have been changed so that beam will appear thinner the further it travels. The beam will also stop rendering at the point where the laser no longer applies damage. This means you will no longer have lasers look as though they are hitting and doing damage when in fact they are out of range, which should provide you with better visual feedback on the hit state. Additionally, some minor FPS gains may be seen as a result of these visual changes.
There have also been minor changes to the range numbering and coloring on the weapon load out HUD to better convey when the weapon is doing full, partial, or zero damage.

Are there going to be quirks for the IIC mechs at all? Positive or negative?

It wouldn't be a PGI announcement without something needing to be corrected. Spelling, time, date, details... if anything, they are consistent. :)

Looks like PGI is using the Innersphere Calender. Outdated and obsolete. :P

Well they are adjusting the hitboxes to the hunchback II, so that's a start. I'm like to see the highlander II get some agility/acceleration quirks like the executioner (or let us use the 350 engine)and the jenner II get some structure or armor quirks to the ct. Nothing crazy, but enough to last a couple hits.

Oh and the Mist Lynx needs blackjack like structure buffs to it's arms....

Yeah take your sweet time with those IIC quirks, it's not like those 4 desperately needs more survivability or anything...

Well, the odds of giving that money to a begger on the streets, having them turn their life around with it, become rich, and repay you later in life... is much much higher than getting anything from the lottery

Although I'm glad we didn't have this feature during the weekend I thought joke names were funny when added to "BLANK was killed by BLANK (perhaps influenced by alcohol). I'd be stuck with a name like "Violent Pooping" or "Falling Down Stairs"!

haha :)

To me the new map resembles... I think it was a mission map in MW4 Mercenaries.

Sure, this one is gonna require some new tactics to it, different aproach... Can't wait to get into it :D

PGI, stop, take a breath. Fix Assault. Then carry on please.

Assault, a major game mode which used to be the best/most exciting is now the most pathetic...

There is nothing to "Assault". It should currently be renamed, ring-a-roses.

Just a simple revert to how it was would be ace ! (feel free to swap the laser turrets with PPC's so lights can evade them, if that's why they were removed).

so the warhammer has some quirks, why do the IS mechs come with quirks? I spent 80 bucks on the origins pack maybe I should have spent that on some hookers for the fellas at PGI. damn someone is! Yo IS people well done, you got the right chicks to rub the right places. PGI I need quirk help for my origins pack, hold on I think I know some no-teeth (grrrr) hookers/dancers i'll send them over.

Russ confirmed they are NOT removing Alpine from rotation.

I'm looking forward to trying the new map, I do hope there is at least some cover with the trenches though else it's going to be an LRMfest.

Wait, are you saying that people DON'T like it whenever I use my vote multiplier to force them into Terra Therma with my dual AC/10 Jager? My entire life is a lie. Never mind I think they love it. **** em. I like to watch those laser boats burn.

Everyone uses their vote in their own way, don't they?

For me, i farm mulitpliers and only use them to avoid bog. literally, thats it. I farm up my multiplier as much as i can, and the only time i ever apply my vote is if Viridian Bog is winning, i vote for the strongest contender. Works pretty well, almost never have to play Bog anymore.
