Reducing quirks is not nerfing. It's removing previous buffs.

Wait until the changes are implemented and THEN complain. I've seen so many balance passes and the balancing will continue. It's a process. First see how the changes will feel. You can unleash hell later.
This is a needed change.

THIS RIGHT HERE.

The GENERAL ENERGY quirk is what was being talked about. Personally I agree with Russ, the general blanket quirks need to be the smallest quirks on any mech (mostly) with compensation for where the tweaks need to be made in category and weapon specific quirks.

Good decision! AS LONG AS they compensate for this with +% range quirks for specific weapons,... like + 10% Energy Range, + 15% LPL Range f.e., instead of +25% flat.

So i take it all IS players are going to swarm to Clanners in CW/clan mechs in general in protest like the Clanners did to us?

Exactly the point, capping the general quirk will prevent stuff like LLs and ERLLs and PPCs from getting a huge boost while still only being marginally useful to SLs and MLs.

Nope. I'm an engineer who is entitled only to what I worked for and nothing else. Give me the quirked HBK or the original Founders HBK and I'll be equally happy.

I'm alright with IS not having the range to match Clans, but a lot of those mechs need some other quirks to make up for being craptastic.

Nice to see my Catapults, especially the Jester, were totally OP. Awesome how the brand new Warhammers need cut back already. Wow.

Meanwhile the two best mechs in the game, Timby and Stormcrow, get buffed. Wow.

I wonder what the metawhoring CW ******* will complain about now in their neverending quest to f**k Puggers over until they die. I swear.. just make the only CW mech you can take is a Locust with a single small laser. Then the rest of us can enjoy a variety of mechs and weapon systems while the CW crowd can really see just how good they are.

that is what we had before and folks gave it a thumbs down. Generic quirks are too easy to abuse in certain places. I like the fact that an IS mech I might not buy may actually work for a specific role after a quirk and this really is important for short to medium range lasers and the tonnage difference for ballistics.

I would also rather have a poor to mediocre mech have a chance to be competitive even if the build is mostly dictated.

Wonder if they will replace laser range with other stuff. Think about a Locust instead of having 50% higher range it gets like 1000% cooldown...
