Since CW is beta can you just give me all your CBills in your unit coffer MS? Its not like you need them since Russ will break your contract at no penaltys.

WOW...you really ARE a clown, aren't you? ;)

CW is fun, and good cbills (finally) but right now we are looking for units to fight. Hell, if any other units want to meet up, come to our TS I am can promise that any group I am calling will actively seek a match, as we always do. I'd rather have a good fight against KCOM, or 228, even if it means we have a much harder time winning, because it shows what real teamwork can do. It also helps our younger players improve....pug stomps don't actually help people get better quickly, but matching team vs team can.

All we cared about was making matches. And we've had a ton of unit vs unit drops since we switched.....so thanks to those who line up in queue to play.

If that where true what you where saying then why didn't you just cancel your contract in game and pay the penalty of CBills and wait the 3 days. Then find a faction better suited to getting you matches against other teams? Kinda makes you an idiot for not using game mechanics already made to do what you want.

Uh...because then they would have to wait 3 days. 3 days of overloaded queues, ghost drops, and no competition.

Seriously, how is this hard for people to understand?

OMG 3 DAYS!!! ITS SO LONG!!! I AM GOING TO DIE!!!

I think it is kinda sad MS is making a big deal over this because of 3 days.

If anything, this nonsense has highlighted how flawed the 3 day penalty idea is. I hope the phase 3 changes do away with it, as other motivators for loyalty are being added.

3 more days of unbalanced matches for all of us solo players too. Just how badly did MS stomp you to make you this upset and ignorant of how this affects us all?

A unit MS's size is always going to have the good bad, the ugly.

Maybe you should work on having an in unit code of conduct to stop some of your players giving the entire unit a bad name. I'd be kicked out of Hackworth Rangers if I acted like what I've seen some players do in chat.

And you're right, stomping bad pugs is very boring. It's not fun for anyone, even the winning team. You don't learn anything and you get no satisfaction for playing well from a hard earned win. It's just pointless and drives newer people away from playing CW.

I think they do have, but if noone reports such incidents to their higherups, they cant do much. Nonscrollable ingamechat doesnt help much either.

I want to repeat, I find it quite ok to let them switch faster since the queues were dying, but at no Cbill cost is really a slap in the face of everyone else, since they should be able to easily afford the cost, maybe even extra since they got a faster switch...

I can agree with that. If you want to wait 3 days pay a less amount and if you want to switch NOW then pay more. In theory it would be like greasing the wheels of politics. Some one should tell Russ to make changes to the mechanic instead of just insta faction swap with out any penalty.

Oh and for those who complain that people are not getting drops ... we are. We get matches against Liao, Kurita, and Marik. :P Sucks to be FRR who wont fight Steiner or Kurita but only clammers.

Players By Faction:
  • Davion: 1601
  • Kurita: 1477
  • Liao: 614
  • Marik: 678
  • Rasalhague: 1905
  • Steiner: 1740
  • ClanSmokeJaguar: 812
  • ClanJadeFalcon: 1974
  • ClanWolf: 2704
  • ClanGhostBear: 1269
The current unit cap is 512. We know this because SWOL hit it a few months back. The current unit cap is just too large considering some factions had a showing of less than 1000 people at tuk2(during a time when supposedly everyone around would be playing).

With that said, Mercstar currently sits at 415 but its really more like 200. The unit cap or size penalty would have to target deep below 200 to impact -MS-. On the other hand, there are units as big or bigger than Mercstar that are much less active, perhaps not even fielding groups actively anymore. Then there are units like Kcom with ~40 people that play better and twice as often as the typical active -MS- member. It is a very complicated and touchy subject but I want to see it lower than 512.

I'd probably cap it well below 100, something like 48 perhaps, then consider upping it at some point if the player base grows enough to warrant it.

They're called units anyway. Units fighting for factions. Y'know, putting aside balancing issues it might just do good for the general feel of the game. If you care about such things.

In my opinion CW could do with some full time "immersion" moderation. Have folks at PGI "act" as senior figures in faction leadership and let THEM hire mercenaries and offer additional incentives.

Maybe they all have a limited pot of cash and even reserves of MC, equipment, consumables and even mechbays they can use.

It would be pretty cool for if the Call to Arms flashed up as "Davion Needs You! At Planet X and get 50 MC (3 Matches), 5 Large Lasers (5 matches), 500K Cbills (7 matches).

Amongst themselves they could barter for attack lanes as required to "balance" things. It would add to the immersion to also get a monthly "State of the Faction" newsletter.

What you are talking about they sorta already do when they run a CW event.

They don't. It's always Clan vs IS. Or some lame "IS now have 10 extra tonnes". That's not immersive that's just mechanistically reactive.

I'm talking about different people at PGI each representing their own faction - Russ vs Paul vs Alex. And each has to do the best they can for their faction with the resources/rewards they have.
