ahahahaa. what a !@#$ing outright lie. especially since MS is on record on twitter for complaining about having to pay contract violation fees and waiting for their contract to expire. big units complain about sh*t constantly and russ always capitulates instead of standing up to them.

I didnt say you were. I said big units in general.

your unit specifically may not have complained. but its the worst of the big units that are giving all big units a bad name.

the fact remains big units have done irreversible harm to CW and dont really contribute anything positive or beneficial on the whole.

IMO, big units need a smackdown.

TThis type of attitude is also an ongoing problem where one is full of Piss and vinegar and has nothing positive to contribute. Keepcomplaining but your comments hold no weight. You are posting for attention and nothing more.

No good deed could ever pull you off your high horse, oh well enjoy flaming for no reason. Good day to you

except big units all cried to russ when he said they were adding a pug queue in CW. because they didnt want pugs to be able to capture planets without big units getting to fight them.

This is a gross overgeneralization. Please show me where all the big units said adding a pug queue was bad. A few individuals from certain units voiced their personal opinions, this doesn't mean ALL big units want the same thing.

View PostKhobai, on 03 February 2016 - 01:32 PM, said:

big units want to dominate pugs in CW. they have already made their opinion about that clear. its not in their interest to have a seperate pug queue because it means harder matches for them and it means pugs can actually contribute and make it harder for large units to retain control over planets.

Theres not one positive thing a big unit has ever contributed to CW. they cause nothing but problems, instability, and grief in the current implementation of CW. whether its intentional or not doesnt matter.

Again a gross overgeneralization, if you spent less time QQing about big units on the forums you might have more fun in the game.

OK, so he said "big" units and you took offense. What unit are you with?

It's still CW beta. As long as it's in beta, who cares? once beta is over this should not occur unless there is amassive population problem like Liao has :)

I understand why MS would want to change factions. The problem is Russ decided it was necessary to break the game rules for them. Not an open 'everyone can switch to the Clans for free weekend', just MS gets a free pass. Isn't it enough that MS is so large it practically wins CW on it's own, but now it just gets millions of Cbills and loyalty penalties just handwaved away?

Only MS asked to get a free switch. The idea never came from Russ. I don't think MS gives a rats *** about the c-bill cost of contract cancellation, it's more about the 3 day cooldown that would be unavoidable. Having more balanced factions is beneficial to everyone playing CW, it's not that hard to understand. Why should EVERYONE suffer for an additional 3 days of "can't find a drop" because nobody playing clans?

MS offered to switch as it would be beneficial for everyone. Russ accepted. That's all there is.

I called it larger population units, he changed it to big.

I'm with 2323. Having the most fun in MWO since beta initiated with them.

CW has been in beta for almost 2 years... Not sure "beta" will ever be over.

Depends on their opposition i think.

They went back to SJ for some reason.

Does the SJ border have any big units that could oppose them?

Yes, in the FRR you have the whole FRR hub community, sons of Odin and all the rest, plus currently 228 and KCom. In Kurita I think Nights Scorn unless they are on a tour?

So yeah, they have plenty opponents.

But it's not. If NS had asked to switch and skip fees and 3 day wait what would have happened? I would say what if NKVA had asked but I think Russ has them on a restraining order.

More to the point did you read what was said?

If PGI does it immediately for free they'll go CSJ. Otherwise they'll wait the contract out *and go where the vote says to go*.

Do you really Not see the difference? Either everyone plays by the same rules or some are more equal than others. Also the whole "we'll see where we go" thing.

This **** is toxic for a game, more so than usual. You start getting tiers in player value (perceived or real) and the game goes to ****.

Really fun group of guys to drop with too IMO

Not to mention drop against. They take smack talk just as much as they dish out.

Ya i know all of those units are IS, but how many are able to fight SJ along its borders?

And im not talking about small units. Im talking about the larger units.

Neither example is a healthy way to develop and manage a game.

Again, you're also conflating game development with a singular act to fix a current situation.

Sheesh people! Don't mix thing up. That's why this thread is heading for 20 pages and beyond.

And I think it's about time I displayed this:

"and manage" is in there for a reason. If you're going to play, pay attention.

Nope. It's gross and absolute favoritism ... from a singular act.

It's a singular act, not a series. Pay attention to the relevant facts.

And people have said penalties have been handwaved in similar incidents before this one. Are they lying?

I'm saying this with genuine <3 here Khereg, please don't feel I'm attacking you but...

F**king stop it. Just stop. Go no further in that line of thinking. The moment you start thinking and feeling that you are any better or deserve special treatment compared to every other schlub in the game you start the transformation into entitled toxic self-important aholes.

Which isn't who you are. If MS is just another group of players like every other playing the same game in the same pool it's a good thing. We're all simpatico and while there's always salt over a big group or a successful group it's all good.

<3 you too, bro, but -MS-didn't demand special treatment, nor do I think we're entitled to it. We just offered to help fix an issue with CW and Russ went for it. I really truly believe if another unit with the ability to do what we can do in CW had made the offer, Russ would have accepted it in place of us. I guess that does make us "special" in the sense that we have enough impact in CW to affect the map, which, you're right, not everybody can do.

But we aren't out looking for favors. We just thought we'd make an offer to help - and yes, get more and faster fights for ourselves (and others) in the process. I was actually in the meeting where the decision was made (just listening) and I can tell you there was about 5 seconds of thought put into it. None of us imagined this would blow up the way it has. After finalizing the vote options for our next contract, someone half-jokingly suggested we could make an immediate switch to help balance population, Tony said he'd tweet Russ, and when I logged on the next day we were Smoke Jag. That's it. It was literally an afterthought.

I get why people think we got special treatment and I won't try to change their minds. The only question I asked was what people would have done if they were in Russ' shoes, with a CW population out of balance, and an easy proposed fix staring them in the face. Personally, I probably would have done the same thing he did. Others will feel differently. C'est la vie.
