I like the idea of the map, as long as it's also it a temperate or desert region as we have plenty of ice tundra as far as maps go.

Arid desert type map with tunnels and an ancient ruins might be nice too.

Boulevard ? no, make it a crashed dropship that punched holes into buildings with a wide, smokey trajectory path. you can fire thru it. but use heat Vision.
hollow buildings for urbies, Basements, water channels like in LA, tunnels (lots !), basically a nightmare to defend. Forces People on their toes.

have real Highways, multi-Story. subway, maglev. tunnels with ceiling between buildings.
make it a maze for Jumpers. a hamster Cage.
put some seismic and heat sources there (steel mill with steamhammer !!) to mess with sensors.
smoke, thermosmoke, burnable objects (gas Station, fuel Depot), skidding surfaces (Soap on road ?).

make the Thing a hellhole that is fun to Play.


time the trashcans get a useful map :)

hmmm... wonder when they are going to copy the urbanmech then - we already have highlander, hunchback, jenner clones.

for how much damage does a freighttrain Charge ? will it be cover ? how Long will it be ? questions, my friends...


i can smell some smoked jaguar schnitzels... :) maybe it is about time to fry them a bit....

This sound very much like the 'BigCity' map from MW4. I could only find one picture of 'main street', but you could really get in between the huge buildings you see to the left. It also have a park (some open area) but also really dense city blocks. Good mix that. Definitely a must-have!

Heck, PGI could pull a "Caustic Valley"... The map could have variable heat levels on the map, entirely depending on where you are. It could happen that there was a hot zone near an underground or surface heat source, or even be really cool in various dark and shaded places. It doesn't simply have to all be one heat or cold level on the entire map like what "Polar Highlands" or "Tourmaline Desert" has. This map could literally end up being one of PGI's masterpiece technical marvels, and it would be something that I would be willing to wait for until they had it perfect to see it released. ^_^

Not dense enough but yes buildings of that size etc.

The city could have a geothermal or some kind of power plant could be hot with an underground mech plant or subway/water system could be cold.

I think it might be better to have clusters of dense urban with suburban or open space between them. A subway tunnel network would be good to connect them for covert movements.

How hard can this be? They already have building and roadways In-game.
It can also easily be made into 3 seasonal maps - Summer (hot), Temperate and Winter (cold).

Need to add some open space - have a crashed dropship crater on the map.

An interesting idea, but we're talking about going one notch further. Imagine having enough variable temperature zoning placed in the map to mentally blindside everyone as they're traveling around. I guess we could do three flavors of it with certain ambient pre-adjustments? Talk about tripling PGI's work, eh? :P

Well, not too much open space... Maybe have a crash-through path like someone else on this thread suggested, though. Or even a straight line, but not make too much of an over-wide open zone. Our intent is not to create a single hot battle zone on the map, but cause it to never really occur in the same place twice. :mellow:

You´re obviously been her more than long enough that nobody should have to re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-reexplain the difference between the proposed MW5 in that video and MWO to you.

You´re either being intentionally dense, or you´re truly never going to be capable of understanding it, so I won´t waste my time trying, and IMO neither should anyone else.

OK, back on Topic - i want explodable gas stations !
light mech hunting in the subway station or on high Metro tracks.
I want Chicago 1920 style layered Highways. hollow buildings.
mud pits, skid-surfaces. the "oh ****, piloting skill roll !" kind of places.

And Advertising for Mechs thats so realistic it scares people to Alpha the advertising board.

I want Thunder / Fascam LRMs
Minefields.


i want more from the sunset then that f...in sunset.
