Tested . . . exploit is still in tact. The more aggressive heat buildup for the wielder makes it more difficult to manage (macro users rejoice), but it's still very much there and usable. I'm sure the trolls will be rejoicing, but I'll pass on this debacle.

P.S. Also found another issue with PGI's current implementation in that non-exploiting use of Flamers has their heat acceleration buildup virtually never reset once it kicks off. PGI may wish to readdress the manner in which this terrible mechanic resets its time cycles, if they're dead-set on keeping it around.

Big problem here. After patching i get "Failed to create Direct3D device". Already tried patching tool. Already tried rebooting. Already tried checking attributes.xml to see if res is wrong. I know im running with Intel HD 3000 but before this... at least it worked on lowest settings...

Same here with the "Failed to create Direct3d device" gtx260 (i know a old one) so we all know: Never play on patch day.
Or the new sentence: Never play mwo after patch day :)

The phoenix variant of the locust 1V seems to have missed out on the rate of fire quirk, is this by design?

Thank you for finally buffing MASC for the executioner. This mech was pretty useless pre-patch, and i just recently bought it because it was one of my favorite humanoid mechs in GBL. While everyone else cries about the clan buff IS nerf, I'm gonna thank PGI for finally making one of my favorite assault clan mechs more useful finally.

Seems like the new OP IS mech, I've already seen large units purchasing massive amounts of Raven 4X outfitting entire dropships with waves and waves of 4X for all that IS-ERLL-OPness. Reason for PGI to give the nerfhammer a second swing - cut all IS range quirks for any weapons to -15%. That would suit them IS cheaters!

Are Flamers bugged?

Drove Firestarter with 8 Flamers. Can fire all 8 simultaneously. No Problem.

Lost 2 because damage in Side Torso. Maybe one Double Heatsink is lost.
After that i could fire 6 Flamers and almost INSTANT SHUT DOWN due to heat build up.

I don't think that is planned this way. PGI please look into this.

PS: And because you make no damage, you get almost no matchscore. Maybe inflicted heat to enemy = damage.

EDIT: spelling

Why does the Timberwolf not have a tree knock down quirk?!

How long did you hold down the button? The mech shooting flamers starts to heat up after 4.75 seconds instead of the old 6.25 seconds.

Yeah I've suggested many times that fixing the IS ER LL specifically (more heat, or Clan style range drop-off maybe), rather than nerfing all IS energy weapons, might be the correct approach... Bugging people on Twitter doesn't work sometimes I guess. Phil (Sean Lang) has suggested on Twitch streams that they should just change up the CW maps to reduce the massive sight lines if they're truly worried about extreme range lameness.

Massive quirk changes shouldn't be the first approach to game balance. Core mechanics first, quirks to fine tune.

Maybe 0,5 seconds the button was pushed, after that INSTANT SHUT DOWN due to overheat.

PLEASE EMAIL SUPPORT

When you shut yourself down due to the Flamer Heat bug, please email support.

We have to swamp them with mass bug reports before anything will be done about it.

Hmm, I was initial concerned that the flamers would be a complete fail, but they actually are a success, BUT, a success by the hair of...well there ain't any left after that...lol

I still think they could use a final tweak, and after testing them, this is what I think should be done now:

-Believe it or not, I can live with the low damage of 0.1, but I think to spread the usage of it as a weapon and not a fad will take more work, so here's what can be done to complete it for good. Number 1, increase the max range(as I've said more than a few times) to 150m (MW4's range), leaving optimal range untouched. Do this, and you won't hear another peep out of me on this issue, and probably other players too. Posted Image

Not a bad job after all on the flamers, you've almost got it.

Not only do Clan ER PPCs deal more damage (splash or not), they also do not produce any more heat than the IS version.

The Clan ER PPC is just plain better than the IS ER PPC because it delivers the exact same performance, plus situationally useful bonus damage, in a smaller and lighter package - and there is no possible BS about burn times etc. to wiggle out of this.

Clan weapons are supposed to be better, even though in MWO they are not nearly as superior as they are in TT.

Tbh as an IS pilot I am not hugely fussed on the energy range nerf for IS. Individual mechs will still retain their specific range quirks, it is just the blanket energy quirk that is reduced.. ..for now. Still amusing that this blanket change went in pretty much purely because of boreal vault hill humping.

Still if the changes mean clan mechs put up more of a fight then I am game for it. Except for streak SRM'6 builds.. ..they are just cheap & I have no respect for them. Posted Image
