You can spin a crit ST 180 degrees away from the enemy in most 'Mechs using a combination of twist, and actual turning with a big engine. However, most 'Mechs are more rectilinear with tons of greeble, so there's some piece of geometry that will do you in if the enemy knows to shoot it. Alternatively, just wait for the target to face you again, something he has to do if he wants to return fire. Then the geometry, torso twist agility, etc. are all irrelevant.
The Urbs is the optimum shape for a 'Mech. If we had a Heavy shaped like that, you bet your buttons it would spread like a champion since there's no discernible ST and since the STs clear from view much faster on account of being round. Also high hard-points.
Penetrator comes close-ish. So does the Sunder.
