Even in this thread Clan Pilots pretend to be unfair treated in their superior competitiveness by unjustified IS Buffs that falsify the true picture of the Skillgap between the combatting Forces of Inferior IS Underhive Scrubs and Geneticaly Superior Inbreed of Clan Masterpilots.

For the same reason a number of People of every skill use every advantage/exploit/tool to correct this false PGI policy of unfair balancing thus its all PGIs fault and they should ban themself !!!

Well said. To bad about the personal insults but well said.

I don't really understand how insults directed at hypothetical people qualifies as "personal insults" but hey what ever makes you feel better about your self.

So weird...

BECAUSE it feels like I am cheating when I am using my IS mechs... Far easier heat management(larger caps) more room for small errors, Far faster rates of fire (shorter burn times and more cap space to fire more often).

Huh. I guess perspective matters.

I think it does, because every time I run my TBR-C(C) it blows me away that I can pack more guns than a Victor, yet still have 1.31 heat and move like a Wolverine.

Why ban cheaters?
They have a matchmaker, just make a tier 0 that will never play with the other tiers and put all cheaters there.

Win win for players and pgi.

If you asked what message it sends. Its sends a very good message for a company. Even in real life you have different levels of punishment. Someone cheating everyday to me isnt the same as the guy who used it once. If the guy who used it once sends a letter to pgi saying he will never use it again than im ok with this. PGI most likely didn't even know he used it once anyway.

It just says this company needs money and will tolerate cheating because of money.
If i burn your house and wreck your car, would it be ok, if i apologize after it and would it never do it again?
No punishment for me, no compensation for you, but thats ok, because i apologized and just have done it once?

Just ban the cheaters or put them all together in their own matches against other cheaters!

Thats a good idea and has been done before. Back in the day some servers would allow cheats when most did not.

I think you might find PGI has made an almighty fkton of money out of this, its more likely that legal issues come into it. You cant charge somebody for virtual goods and then take them away without refunding the money. There have been legal cases over this in the past and before you bring up eula, they have been described as "not worth the paper they are written on"

I don't think PGI are worried legally at all. It wouldn't be worth it for someone to do this. You'd have to of spent $50k to make it worth while, even then it's a gamble.

Comment was more towards Mister d because he just went clans not long ago.

Heat and rate of fire still goes to clans if they pick the right weapons and load out. Even the clan er laser does more DPS than IS er lasers. It takes a 12% cool down just to balance the DPS. Heat is about the same until you add IS cooling quirks but then again clans get a lighter weapon 1 slot and get 2 slot dhs to add in. Then you need a 10% range quirks to balance the rwnge.

So if you get a IS mech with 10% range, cooling and cooldown. You have balanced weapons.

Then of course you still have the clan XL and 1 ton target computer to balance. Is armor and speed quirks I guess.. Over all the best quirked IS mechs are very balanced with best clans at this point.

That implies cheaters are worth spending even minimal effort on retaining.

Banning the account costs them every cent spent and every bit of time spent grinding. And less effort.

Quick question:

Do you want to know the usernames of people who cheated so you can contact them for information about cheats? Or, are you going to contact them so you can discuss fondue recipes?

I'm just wondering what you hope to accomplish, since you WILL NOT be "looking out" for those names in game [ya know, since they will be banned, and all].

why ban cheaters? Just give them their own matchmaking Tier.

Actually, Grand Theft Auto's online servers have this. Cheaters from that game are lumped into a pool that can only play against other cheaters. That way they cannot ask for a refund, since they are not being denied any content.

Currently, someone who gets banned will get a refund on undelivered preorder content.

That should change. Put them in a Cheating tier and they cannot claim a refund on any grounds... Muwahahaha

If someone played a game against an opponent that they felt quite certain were cheating and reported said individual, it would actually be good to know that the devs actually acted on the info you supplied and you get to know that this individual was banned for cheating.

Now my question to you is, and I really don't think I'm alone wondering this, why do you think these individuals that cheated should be fully protected from being known by us players that they are actual cheaters? What is the purpose of refusing to let us players know who have been cheating while playing this game? It just comes across like you know a cheater and you don't want to see him shamed by being known for what he's done.

How is a banned person "protected". I thought banishment kind of implies non-protection, since they did actually receive negative reinforcement.

And to say " you sound like a cheater" is so juvenile that I cannot really respect your opinions too much. You sound like a grade schooler.

Protected from being known I said, which I'm sure you actually grasped.

And I didn't say you are a cheater, I didn't even try to imply it. But the only good reason I can think of why you insist on not letting a single cheater be known for being such to us players is if you might know someone that wouldn't want that to happen. And if that sounds like a grade schooler, I'm not sure how you define how a grade schooler sounds.

I guess I figured it out. People want to know the identity of all the banned cheaters so they can troll all the other forums on the internet and find them (assuming, of course, that the people with those handles on the other forums are the same people with the MWO account), and then blame them for your terrible gaming experience.

Because that's the only reason you need their names. It's to identify, locate, and contact them. Otherwise names and player IDs are useless information to you.

Could you just give us one single good reason why they should not be publicly known for cheating? One? Right now it just sounds like you feel sorry for them.

Sorry, I'm just one of those weird people who think cheaters should be forgotten instead of having their names immortalized on a plaque.

Whilst I don't necessarily agree with giving their own tier because that's just BS.

Naming them is also a stupid move, why give them a platform to be remembered... there's no need for it just ban them as you go and be done with it.
PGI allegedly have a system in place that can detect the cheats in use... If that were true there would be no delay.

My guess is that the ban wave is withheld so it can be used to clear the slate of cheaters right before PGIs official tournament starts, and if so I think it's the correct decision.
