I love PPC's. I really do. I know large pulses are more effective overall but PPC's look so pretty. And besides is it really satisfying to kill someone with large pulses? When you kill someone with PPCs...well that is saying something.

I mean it is the difference between a claddagh and engagement ring really.

that goes without saying. if you dont build your mechs around quirks, your doing it wrong. also, PPC's dont suck.

I personally find PPC's on a Black Knight super frustrating. Such low hardpoints that PPC's would hit dirt or corners on bad hitboxes(which are plentiful). Plus they have the weakness of sub 90m unless you want to go ERPPC and then you are far too toasty. I find LPL/LL just give the mech more consistency and versatility at mid to close range. If PPC's work for you then great but it just seems clunky to me.

Dont have to. You would never take IS PPC's without quirks. Its not how the game is played. Anyone who does take PPC's without quirks is a noob. Or any weapon for that matter most of the time.

As they should be. They are CLAN TECHNOLOGY, after all. Besides, they still wouldn't be end all be all.

I did just fine in vanilla Mechwarrior 4 using Inner Sphere robits and tech.

Always remember folks, PPC's dont suck, you do!

1. Stop being so condescending.

2. Jager-DD with triple UAC5s can easily out DPS it. All the while having high mounts located on the arms.

Sure you've been having fun... but, yeah... that is as far as it goes.

My Awesome-8Q can do better than that (its a bit slow, i know... but its a better PPC spammer)

In many cases you don't build your mech around quirks and they will be more effective. That is what Smurfy is for. In many cases quirks have made no sense and to build around them has been folly.
