Yeah I regret teaching that to him. We all had a hand in creating that golem.

Still, nothing more dangerous than my Hells Horses forces. The true masters of Megamek were the combined arms guys, not the people who leaned on pulse as a crutch or the gaussboats.

Don't make me nostalgic for Megamek leagues, Quick. They don't exist anymore. People don't have the patience for 2-3 hour games these days.

And that makes me sad, I do enjoy getting the guys together for some TT Battle Tech every week or so.... I find it more entertaining and works my mind a bit more than a twitch shooter that MWO is quickly becoming.

I have a few people asking me about NBT-Classic (the NBT automation using Megamek to play battles in). But I think I'm going to hold off until the new automation is out. The old one is just too much of a pain to explain to new people and usually scares them off.

But when I do get around to it, rest assured I'll let you guys know.

Its really not a twitch shooter. Due to the high health pools, speed limited aiming and long weapon cooldowns compared to actual twitch shooters, MWO rewards patience and taking your time with shots far more so than it rewards rapid twitch aiming.

Why do you think most people lower their mouse sensitivity? Its not so they can twitch faster.

MWO isn't a twitch shooter. Once in a while I see that said on these forums and it leaves me scratching my head.

Not likely.

Deimos is a Dark Age 'Mech that debuted decades after the Clan Invasion.

Its actually a 3080s mech and its MekTek's very own design, which was made canon. It uses all current tech so it COULD be added, though I don't know how much people would care.

Its also an 80 ton omni with a 54 kph max speed, so as cool as it looks, im not sure people would really want it.

Didn't it first get produced by Snow Raven in the 3060's? But was unseen by IS forces for like 2 decades?

Which means that it's a Dark Age design - exactly as I said.

Plus, it doesn't have 80 tons, but 85 tons. And of course it has MASC for added mobility.

republic era. dark age is 3132 on.

Either way, it uses current tech, it could be in, but it'd be trash, with or without masc.

From the official BattleTech site:
Dark Age (3081+)

Thank you for your opinion.

If we talk about Clan 85-tonners:
Deimos has definitely advantage over Masakari when it comes to pod space, since Deimos has 43 tons available, while Masakari has 32.5 tons available.

Plus, Deimos has optional Jump Jets.

Personally I can imagine that some players would actually like Deimos.

I tried to theorycraft build with the Deimos in SSW, but I ended up constantly running out of slots before tonnage. It's even more extreme than the Masakari itself, which says a lot...

For visuals maybe, but 48kph even with MASC is rather slow, even the Stalker which runs around 8+kph over the Deimos is considered slow these days when people like myself run XL350-400s in Battlemasters.
