I haven't forgotten. What about the player bounty system? Where are you at on this feature?
To the rest of you, are you still interested in this as a feature? It was always something I thought would add to the community and help build some healthy rivalries and such.
I had a friendly bounty placed on me last night (after which two seeking to collect I suspect discovered I shoot back lol) and it was fun. It would be nice to be able to place a bounty on other players in the community.
I always thought a good way to implement would be to allow a pool for each player in the game. Anyone can place a bounty on another player, all bounties are placed into that pool.
With the upcoming Solaris, 4v4, and smaller game modes coming this would be a great addition.
If you want to participate in the bounty hunt you have to pay a bounty "fee" (maybe 10% of the total bounty on a player?). If you get the kill on the player (or most damage dealt), then you collect the bounty.
If you don't though, your bounty fee goes to the player who avoided getting captured. I think it would be a great c-bill sink as well.

You must think very little of Sandpit to only offer 1,000 CB...
I'd offer 100,000 cb dead, 1,000,000 if captured alive....
I'll never be taken alive!!!!
(unless there's cake and women involved, then we can talk

There's a few c-billionaires out there, and we want something to spend it on. Personally I'm hoping to buy a few dropships and lease them out... but bounties work too. Scout Derek, I'll match your 20 mil. But he needs to be alive, I have plans... *evil laugh*

Was announced at the launch party. 6min 30s mark. I was about 20 feet away from him.

Yup dropships were suppose to purchasable also and announced in that video as well I think. Wouldn't it be nice to have stuff to do with surplus CB, XP, GXP? The CW economics discussed in the video and possibilities they just dropped has me shaking my head. My anger is growing every time these kinds of conversations arise.

I think it’d be pretty neat to see that. As I feel like there should be something that you get as the person placing the bounty. Otherwise, we all kind of know that he’ll be killed sooner or later… So there should really be a reason to put a bounty on someone’s head.
Some other things that would be awesome:
- [THERE’S A BOUNTY NEARBY!] . . . That's what you see show up briefly on your HUD when you join the game.
- Displayed just above your weapons: [20,000,000CB BOUNTY: ACTIVE]
- When the target dies it either disappears, or shows: [20,000,000CB BOUNTY: CLAIMED]
- When you target Sandpit, he is very clearly marked with a different type of targeting reticle, and says BOUNTY, underneath the mech.
- Paperdoll also shows some type of identification, and the reward his bounty will give.
REWARDS FOR DEFENDING THE BOUNTY:
- Team players are made aware of the bounty, and defending this player will result in a small reward (1/20th of the bounty) for the defending team if they win and the target didn’t die.
- The bounty remains intact for the next game and will remain intact until an enemy player kills the target.
- Rewards given to the defending team does not subtract from the total amount of the bounty.
- Suicides do not clear the bounty.
- DIeing from friendly fire does not clear the bounty.
- If the target dies from friendly fire, the defending team will not be rewarded, regardless if they win or not.

There should be a 25-50% cut that the game takes from Bounties. This is really just to discourage players from being able to move funds around. So if you put a 100,000cb bounty on someone, the reward would be 50,000cb.
REWARDS FOR DEFENDING THE BOUNTY:
Team players are made aware of the bounty, and defending this player will result in a small reward for the rest of the team if they win and the target didn’t die.
I think adding in like an "escrow" fee would help with gaming it. Requiring a player to put up and risk their own cbills to collect would help prevent any gaming of the system.
Collecting a 10 million cbill bounty sounds great, but if you had to put up say 10-25% of that (or set it to a sliding scale, the larger the bounty, the larger the fee) with no guaranteed that you're going to win the bounty, it would definitely prevent that or at the very least severely mitigate it.
If the player survives then they get to collect the escrow fees.
If the player dies but isn't killed by one of the bounty hunters, the escrow fee goes away and nobody gets it and maybe add a % of that escrow to the total bounty.
I don't see how moving around cbills really affects much. Units have unit coffers to be able to do that without all that fuss anyhow.

What about Canadian beer? We've got the good stuff.
No, you really don't. Europe, bro. Or even the US crafters industry. Motocross?. Meh.

Try some Bellhaven Scottish Ale, Chimay Blue, Warsteiner Dunkel, Newcastle on tap, etc. All of Emergencias WRECK any canuck maple juice.
In the USA?. Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, Goose Island's Sophie, almost anything by Magic Hat (although all three have been bought out by the Big Swill producers) or anything by Rogue, etc.

So when I kill the bounty, I wouldn't get the reward right away? And I would in a sense place a bid on it? Not sure what you mean about the risk. Sorry.
It's not as simple as just forking over cash towards a player name and waiting for someone to kill them?

This is how I get my fun out of the game lately, kill a specific player in the match, at all costs. Mostly that guy is random but every now and then some known names show up, then the fun begins

Oh, there's an advanced mode, too. There you have to announce the headhunt in the pregame chat
