Two questions:
-Is their a maximum size for Merc companies?
-Will their be any incentives for Lone Wolf players? If so, any that faction and merc associated players can't get?

In the lore, certain planets were more strategically important than others (factories, heavy industry, zero-G shipyards in orbit, etc.). Will there be any practical difference between planets for the owners?

Can you give us a brief walkthrough of how a merc corp would take a planet from start to finish, and what benefits they would receive after taking it?
Can you give us a walkthough for faction units?
What kind of ops do you see Lone Wolf players engaging in?

Bribes...? You mentioned bribes and Soviet Russia the office environment, so I'm calling you out on it

...can a Merc Corps member or a House Loyalist receive an in-game payment to share deployment information, deliberately botch a mission and make it look like an accident, or perhaps snuff-out his squad...?

EDIT: You do have to admit that intelligence-sharing between players in this persistent universe is a real possibility... and all the canon Factions do have their moles in other peoples' holes...

Ok I may have missed it but if so a few questions worth repeatiing.
1. Can you elaborate any on Faction Ranks and Command and Control.
2. Can you elaborate any on Faction units? Will we have the full gamut of line units etc?
3. What is your proposed Command progression?
4. Economy for Factions?
5. Solaris VII?

I'm wondering just how much you plan on allowing players to 'change' history here. You mentioned the Faction and Border worlds will be those with little or none historical significance and the Core worlds will be administered by the GMs. Doesn't that mean we're basically being dragged down a historical simulation? If the players don't have the chance to REALLY make a difference in the universe wouldn't it be easier and pretty much to the same effect to have instanced game rooms like most FPS have now a days?

What would be the point of joining the FRR and trying to climb the ranks if you know you're going to get stomped and there is NOTHING you can do about it, not even grab a bunch of Drac or Steiner territory to get out of the way. Would bring up the same issue with what happens to St Ives but that's so far down the time line I'm pretty sure we'll be playing MW7 with our brains by then.

How will you handle inter-planetary travel if the MWO universe will progress realtime? In the canon, it usually taked 2 weeks plus. Will this be followed, or will there be some type of time compression for this?

Will Merc Corps be able to form alliances with other Merc Corps? And can LP be exchanged for XP or C-Bills?

Some concern has been voiced over the decay of LP for the casual players. I know I for one get easily bored by having to re-grind the same levels to get to the end game in other games. Often, that boredom would dictate that I simply not play that game at all.

Would it be possible to make it so that the re-earning of previous levels of LP take less time than the original grind?

For example, I play steady for four months and have 1000 LP. Life happens (as it always does) and I am not able to get back into the game for a month and return to find my LP degraded to 500. Now, since I have reached that 1000 threshold, re-earning the 500 LP I lost would only take one to two weeks of steady play instead of a two months.

Will respawning, dying or staying alive, playing smarter, have any influence on loyalty points? Do you reward players for not dying so often?

I wanted to pick up on the dying concept here, perhaps naively... (and with apologies, I may have skipped a couple of question pages)
  • What constitutes a kill? Disabling/Crippling a mech? Outright reactor overload? Forcing the pilot to eject? Something else?
  • Is there any form of "You keep what you kill?" being applied here. For example, in past games if I took care how I took out an opponent, there was potentially more materials/mechs to be salvaged for my gain.
  • Do you "Die"? Is ejection and pilot survival guaranteed/automatic? If manual, and you fail to eject/escape, does your pilot and presumably your profile and achievements die with them?
  • How tied to a planet are you? How will transport work? Is there some form of "public" transport network that allows lone wolfs to get around the system?
Think that covers it for now. *Really* looking forward to this game, have been waiting for a successor to MW4 and MechCommander on the PC for the past decade now!

I was wonderin' can we watch battles live stream, or get updates as to how a battle is going. And maybe you know you just happen to be passing though and you see some guys getting stomped by someone who has more numbers than the other guy, so could you 'ahem' "drop in" and crash the party. Also could any bases that are under attack send out distress signals to call for help? You guys are doin a great job by the way, love what you guys are putting together, and the first thing that I will buy for my cockpit is a hula girl, thank you Matt Newman.

It's stated that the worlds may change state from faction/border/dev controlled at any time. Will this be done by NPC combat? Will these battles be listed in the real time RSS/website feeds to the players to keep the persistent feel?

Can we refer to time as Real Hula Time (RHT)?

Trying not to repeat any questions...

How will occupying a planet work? Will the former occupants be able to attack it again right away or will there be a down time? Are the worlds going to be linked in so much that before you attack a certain world you have to occupy one prior to it, or will you be able to attack any planet at any time?

How will a merc unit gain LP for a faction if it can not work for the faction prior to gaining a certain LP with the faction? Perhaps I misunderstood this.

Will our hula girls rank up with us? Do I get different skins to use as I progress through the LP ranks? Do I get Matt as a hula girl if I become the "man in charge" of a faction?

How will you balance the rewards (such as increased xp and increased cash) for occupying planets? It seems like a rich get richer system here, I suppose this ties in with the question of how you will balance the factions against each other so that none truly dominate. This also pertains to long time players vs short time players. Many people have irl obligations, and many don't, how will you balance the fact that this would tend towards giving long time players even larger gaps with people who don't have the ability to play as long? Again this also extends to the lone wolf types, if joining a faction and gaining LP gives extra rewards like that, wouldn't it again be a punishment to the casuals that don't want to necessarily pick sides?

Will factions be able to attack merc controlled worlds and vice versa?

It is said that you can gain LP's by downing an "enemy" mech, how will "enemies" be determined? Will faction leaders determine who is the "enemy" of who? Will there be alliances? Will it all be cannon driven?

It might have been asked but, considering shortly after release there is a massive clan invasion in the time line, how will this effect the IS worlds. Will they be considered a separate faction, More house factions, dev controlled, etc. etc.? Will it reset the map back to what it "should" be based on cannon in the event that major line redraws happen through the course of the players deciding the "history"? Probably too soon to ask this question. haha

I suppose the real question is when can I play?

Hello.

1) What will the minimum size of a merc company?

2) You mentioned that some worlds will be operated by the DEV's (Core worlds) Will this control be used to introduce PvE assisted content at a later date? By PvE assisted I mean large numbers of A.I. controlled mechs to make battles feel EPIC with player units inter-spaced?

Will there be any factional relationship between the FedSuns and Lyrans in-game, or are they being treated as wholly separate factions?

Hey

Look at the map ... there is no fed suns and lyrian comm. Its the Fed comm now. They joined into one faction.

We have no idea if they intend to make Fedcom the faction or Davion/Steiner the factions. It could very well just be... a Map. At least as for what's playable. I really doubt they make them the same, allied? Definitely, the same? I would be very surprised.

I have a comment abou the "lone wolf" class It sounds like this class will be pretty restricted you may want to add a "Bounty Hunter" category to this class. Using that type of class you can find a use for those points. Imaging a lone wolf character taking out a faction member in a challenge. Remember the Bounty Hunter and the Black Widow? It could be an interesting add-on to the class to make this class more attractive to folks who enjoy that style of play.
