I have mixed feelings about a "salvage" system... it doesn't fix anything, actually. It only complicates even more the balance.

See, IS mechs have very inferior equipment (ES, FF, XL Engines, DHS) and this is compensated by strong quirks. If you allow IS mechs to equip Clan weapons, they will have the "best of both worlds" (combo of great quirks with great weapons).

Balance nightmare.

advanced timeline fixes everything.

That's exactly the opposite of what I was saying. Advanced timeline will fix nothing, unless you make all the IS lvl. 2 weapons/equipment obsolete (which would be awful).

{CLAPS VERY LOUDLY!} Yes!!!!! The truth shall set you free. MW4 was the red-headed step-child of BattleTech and, as far as my own opinion is concerned, is NOT BattleTech in the least.

If the MW4 is the head-headed step-child of Battletech, I wonder what that [abomination] of MechAssault is. :P

For those not familiar with MechAssault, two words: mech shields!

KAYWOLF=(You had me up until this point... your comment about wanting a Mercs clone is crap, though, and you lost my support at that point. Now, if it were the changes Mektek made to Mercs-IV, you might have something.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look pal PC Mechwarrior2-MechWarrio4Mercinaries were the best BT/MechWarrior games ever why? Because they had a MM system that you could play hundreds of BT/MechWarrior simulations with real rules made within leagues and tactics and great game play.

MWO makes me sick its just a rinse and repeat world of tanks in mechskins game and until our brilliant devs stop trying to make it even more terrible like a MOBA E-sport garbage game and bring it back to PC MechWarrior game style for Multiplayer and include a Social lobby systems leagues and the old MM system we had it is garbage.

The farther away from PC MechWarrior2-4 this game becomes the worse it plays and is overall UN-interesting and unique.

Want to try out and play real BT/MechWarrior PVE and Multiplayer as it should be in MWO here is a link to a free game so you can?

Seriously, the Clans being able to drop Elementals instead of an arty strike would be awesome.

I'd just throw them quarters telling them if they save up enough they'll own a proper mech one day, then kick them in the arse, when they go to pick it up

First, you misunderstand what I said, before... I didn't say MechWarrior II and III were horrid games, only MechWarrior IV. MW IV: Vengeance, Black Knight, and Mercenaries were crap up until Mektek and NBT got involved with Hardcore. MechWarrior III was the gold standard prior to MechWarrior Online. Make no mistake, MWO is not a perfect game, and yes it is a lot of wash, rinse, repeat, and no it's not acceptable, but for the multiplayer aspect, MWO is far superior to MechWarrior III.

MechWarrior IV was not BattleTech-related, except in the names used. All of the numbers were wrong, and it did not feel like BattleTech to me. All of the numbers in this game are wrong, but this is the best representation of BattleTech in a computer game I've ever played, even if PGI has a long road to get to where this game is truly viable, not just minimally viable product.

Sorry KAY but I have to disagree I have played every MechWarrior and Battletech game ever made for PC MW1-MW4mercs and 3025 and about 40 other mech games made for PC-SNES-Xbox-Atari-ETC over 20+ years of playing mech games and I have played in every league ever made for MechWarrior including NBT and MWL planetary and have modded MechWarrior PC games.

And I stand by what I have said in my posts. Until MWO brings back that same feeling I got the first time I played PC MechWarrior in private league games- Kali-ten.net-merc.net-ETC right until the Close of the MSN gamming Zone personally I will never include MWO in the MechWarrior/BT genre of true BT/MechWarrior IP play.

MWO is closer to World of tanks-War thunder-and other FPS rinse and repeat games.

These questions are game mode related.

1. When a team is completely destroyed in conquest or domination, players have to wait for an objective to be completed. Would PGI be willing to invest in a surrender vote system for the destroyed enemy team?

2. In the domination game mode, some teams can get an unfair timer advantage early game because they have faster mechs. What if the the HPG uplink can only be captured when a specific amount of game time has passed?

3. It's rare to see games won from time-out. Is it considerable for game modes like domination to time-out quicker? Alternatively, the time-out counter could be reduced if a mobile headquarters gets destroyed.

number 1 has already been fixed,
on domination when the enemy team dies you auto win,
for conquest you auto win assuming you hold enough cap points to guarantee the win by points, however it the "dead" team holds enough cap points to win you have to take them before you get the auto win, basically if you kill all the enemy and have 1 slow Mech left but the enemy hold 3 points and are past 500 score in that situation you will still loose by points but if both sides hold a single cap and you are 1 point ahead as soon as all the enemy are dead you will get the instant win

Exactly. That is why we should just put all the Clan and IS tech in the game. We can balance the game one last time until physics are introduced again. Posted Image

Question to PGI:
Any chance to go back to have player-selectable game mode again? I'm sick of this brainless brawl called skirmish.

Oh, the feeling of first time...

- First time I kissed my sweetheart;
- First time as a kid in Disney;
- First time I bumped into the Butcher in Diablo I...

That feeling? it's not coming back, buddy.
  • MW2? Great story, immersion and veneration for the lore - but shameful weapon balance;
  • MW3? Flawless mechlab implementation, weapon and mech stats exactly like the TT - but no attention to story or lore, unbalanced multiplayer;
  • MW4? Better multiplayer, rich story, Solaris - but completely changed weapon stats, had even less respect for the lore, mechlab for children, not a single canonical stock build, invented a lot of weapons and mechs and with graphics/physics actually worst than MW3.
Its easy to see the old MW titles through rose-tinted glasses, but all of them were flawed in the end.

MWO (even if flawed too) is the best implementation of Mechwarrior until now. We just need Solaris and Singleplayer.

So you think the fix to balance is unbalancing the game even more?
