People calling the Viper over-engined clearly don't run the Cicadas. Speed is life, I run an XL320 or higher in all of them.

I'm going to laugh if it's another $85 pack.

I'll laugh even harder when people try to say "No really, it's a great deal!"

It's $20/30. I skip the mechs I don't want.

This works better for me than the $80/120 packs.

Despite being disappointed because it's not ducky enough (the CT should resemble more like a bill/beak), I admit that Alex' magic is real! Meaning that the 'Mech is gorgeous. It also helps that it should perform decently theoretically.

I'll definitely grab this when it's released for C-Bills!

It's another highlight of this Mech. On the one hand (lol), I often remove both of the LAA and the HA in order to make some space and so that the (various laser) weapons converge better, but on the other hand, those hands look too cute to remove! It's almost that you can tickle Mechs with those!

Also lacks slots for most Dakka, even if it had the tonnage...but I guess it would gain slots if it lost JJs...

Best not to think of that, but how many places you can Wub from.

Yeah. Most wubby build I can see at this time is a 9-E build, with C LA, A LT, C CT, A RT, C RA. Unfortunately, even using SPLs, you would still run out of tonnage for that (not to mention ghost heat). Might as well go 9 C-ERSL and pack another 4 DHS.

How do you know its $20/30?

So far, every single pack has been $20/40 with $15$ hero... same will be for the viper

I would have bought a pack that happened to have this inside but I'm not sure I'm feeling the single purchase of this one. It's not iconic like the unseen or the Kodiak.

It has too little pod space to be very interesting in my opinion.

This Mech will be able to soar with those 8 Class IV JJs (~105 meters jumping height)!

The only thing comes close is the (L)oyalty Cicada, but it uses ghetto ISTech. There's of course the Shadow Cat but it doesn't have the speed nor the ability to mount lots of small lazors. It does have ECM though.

Cool!
Nice potential hardpoints, nice speed, JJs.
I love the Cicada, and this thing seems like it will be at least as good fun.
I'll probably buy it when it comes out.

Oversized light? Overengined? Looks sexy? This one looks like too much fun. Shame it's clam. Suppose it's too early for Osiris though

Could treat it like a big ember with mgs and meds...

I personally am more interested in the mech that may or may not be announced mid month.

I would prefer the Crusader, wasp, stinger added before we have a clan run on mechs then I wouldn't care tomuch if every mech produced to the end of the year was a clan one.

There is a desperate need for 40 toners, and the clans needed that gap filled.

I'm not that impressed with how it looks, but its ok, and what might sway me is the goodies it comes with, I don't need premium that much, i've a good nine months banked, a lot will ride on the camo, if I'm going to get clan faction colours or a choice, I will probably be in for buying it.

If it turns out to be a bad one like the Phoenix Hawks getting, I shall probably not bother and wait for C-bills.

what is consistent is the complaining that goes on about anything that P.G.I make or do ;)

Someone explain to me the hate on single mech packs.

Every Clan Wave had packages starting at $30, for the light mech, with no premium time. To get 30 days premium, you'd need the level 3, which is $90.

Just want the medium or heavy or assault? F-you, that will be $55, and still no premium time.

Now with the single mech packs, you get to choose, chasis by chasis, which chasis you want and that typically comes with 30 days Premium time. Now I don't know if the Viper is going to be $20 or $30. Even if it's $30, that's still a better deal than any of the Wave Packs if you just wanted the Medium. Cause your options would be to pay $60 for an extra Light mech you don't want, or $55 for just the Medium with no bonuses.

I wonder how omnipods will work for this mech. Will you be unable to buy extra omnipods for variants you don't own before the mech is available for C-bills? Otherwise, I guess there will be no incentive to buy so many variants, right? But if I own the A-variant, can I buy unlimited A-variant omnipods for all the Vipers I own?

Firstly 30 days of premium time WAS part of the big packs (it was one of the early adopter rewards)
Secondly... its not 20$ (or 30$) per chassis... its 40$ (or 60$) per chassis. Only the 40$ (or 60$) chassis pack have the special variant.
And its all about the special variant and thats it
With the old big packs I could get 8 mechs + 2 special variants + 2 camo patterns + bunch of colors + 6 usable mechbays for the same price i can get the special cbill variant in this "new" model

Also, single packs lose 1/3 of their value after early adopter period

And finally as i said before, Premium Time is just junk for me... garbage... useless!

Look man, don't even try to compare the old and new model based on value... the content in the big packs are hands down more than anything these single packs have, 2 fold.

Go take a look at resistance 2 packs.
