Mcgral18 compiled this
though one should add an extra E Hardpoint to his LegoMech figures, as aside from (S) Prime, I can can see little reason NOT to use the Charlie CT as the "go-to" Chassis (once grinds are done) unless the other CTs come with substantial Quirk advantages.
Open Critical Slots:
-H: 0
-CT: 1
-RT: 4
-LT: 4
-RA: 6
-LA: 6
-RL: 0
-LL: 0
Anyhow, the 3 builds I foresee off hand (or variations thereof)
Any builds you think look fun? No enough missile hardpoints to mess around with, certainly not enough tonange for larger ballistics.
Looks like a potentially useful, but also very limited viable build option mech.

I would strip all the armor and throw a UAC 10 on it.
It seems like it'll mostly be an overgrown ACH (and Cicada sibling), so I imagine builds used on those 2 mechs would fit pretty well on the Viper.

A. ERSL spam
B. SPL spam
C. ERML poker (high-mounted ST hardpoints)
D. ERLL poker (see C)
MGs might not be the best idea because of the fact that they are mounted near the cockpit on both sides (blinding effect). That, and the state of MGs in general...

odd, since I count up to 9 energy hardpoints, or of course, 5 energy, 4 B for MG fans...... 2xERLL (very popular on ravens and cicadas, less so on ACH, but not uncommon), 4-5 ERML, 4x MPL, ERSL/SPL and MGs, ERSL/SPL and SRMs, etc.

I think every time Imperius throws a tantrum Russ delays Mad Cat 2 development.

Sure...8 SPLs will still be a furnace, if you only mount 6 or 7, you can do that on the ACH...so why bother?
ERSLs, well, 8 of those might be ok...
Even then, with fall off nerfed, no reason to run them over SPLs much these days.

heat efficient is also a measure of Heat vs Dmg and Heat vs Tonnage. Since most Clan Mechs can pack more DHS than IS equivalents of same weight and weapon loadout, due to C-DHS being 2 crits vs 3, and of course, LPL and ERLL being lighter....(and Endo, Ferro and XLs all taking less precious crit room, too)
Meh.

Other than being half the weight, and only .25 duration longer... so capable of packing 4x DHS more than the SPLs allow?
So superior D/S/T (damage per second per ton: 3.08 vs 2.0) and heat dissipation (.92 vs 1) ...before adding 4 more DHS. Which alleviates the slightly worse Damage per Heat (1.67 vs 2.0) ratio.
Science!

Science:
7x SPL = 42 damage
8x ERSL = 40 damage
With fall off nerfs, there is not sufficient range gap to warrant the ERSL anymore. When it was a gap of ~90m, ok...440 versus ~350.
Now that we are talking about a range gap of a mere ~50m...better to have more damage and less duration than to have the range.
