EDIT: This thread was originally entitled "Did Russ Really Say He Wouldn't Post an April Road Map?" I changed the title on 6 April when he committed via Twitter to post a Road Map on the 7th.

I read this in Tristan Winter's writeup of the Town Hall...

"Russ just announced there will be no April Roadmap posted today. Because the April patch is all about CW Phase 3 and he was busy and not motivated to write it, since it was all about CW Phase 3 only."

Did he really say that...?

Because to me it would seem rather lazy not to write a brief memo to your paying customers, letting them know what you had planned for April. Even if that is just a list of the CW Phase 3 features, it would be something.

I was worried when patches got dialled back to just once a month. Now we can't even get a road map post?

Trouble with paraphrasing is it loses the message. As I recall what he said was "I was busy testing CW phase 3 all day and was too busy to write it." then went on to say he wasn't really motivated to write it and post it at the end of the town hall like he normally would due to the long day. He will be putting the roadmap up later, most likely on monday I would assume.

Be thankful there's a Phase 3 at all. Most companies wouldn't spend as much time, money and effort on something that affects only 10% or less of their playerbase.

The last two town halls Russ seemed to not even want to talk about CW/FW

What people don’t realize is they made quick play suck so much Faction warfare don’t seem so bad

In other news at approximately 5 am quick play on N.A. servers(on a Saturday/Sunday)was a ghost town with players complaining of wait times exceeding 5 minutes

Solaris will be the saviour of the game because its like exactly the same as quick play but with no TK, and gosh cheering crowds..

Thanks for that clarification.

So I am hoping that tomorrow he'll put up an April Road Map. (Fair enough that he didn't do it over the weekend.)

Actually it might be. As neat as CW sounds, I really wonder if it will be "fun" for individuals or small groups or just a playground for really huge groups that can change affiliation at a whim. Just look at how many people post. Every other day it seems like half of them have new loyalties. That is bs. If the "winner" in CW is just which faction X unit plays for this week then there is little point in me playing.

Frankly I think more people will get into Solaris because it is 1v1 or 4v4 and with rankings come bragging rights. Perhaps humiliation rights too. More people who play MWO don't grasp the background and so Solaris is better while many of those who do know the lore seem to want a massive mmorpg which I don't think is gonna happen.

Personally, I would be happy with more immersion, but whatever.

5 am...lack of players...This is surprising/unexpected? If that's the case, try the Euro/Oceanic servers.

I considered coming into work today, but upon reflection I realised I couldn't be bothered, and instead postponed my work to... whenever.

(Just a little joke, I don't actually care... I just think it's funny that he publicly said that)

I hate voting as much as the next guy but quick play will always be 10million times better than CW. Remove the easy mechbays and i would never have bothered to begin with. Now i could use the harder to reach mechbays but doubt ill ever consider it.

If anything it's their own fault for over-promising CW. I'm not going to sympathize with them for having to spend resources to deliver what they had promised years ago after everyone stopped caring.

Yah, I heard his statement and that's a pretty good summary of what he meant.

I'm not happy with PGI staff (CM and her mods) but its not accurate to say Russ was being lazy or gaffing off his customer base.
