In terms of XL friendliness, one of the primary benefits of the XL is to mount a big engine for high speed and agility, which can counteract the supposed "fragility" of the XL. A small XL engine is slow and clumsy, and therefore doesn't really unlock the full potential of the mighty XL.

It seems like a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of situation for the Funslinger.

The BLR gets away with Xls by running 400s or 375s so it can twist better.

However with good hitboxes and those big shoulders being arms? It's got potential.

Looks like a good mech, but not sure I would want a 85 ton mech. Assaults get shafted more so than not by team members leaving them behind in Nascar for light mech feedings. So why do I want another assault when this continually happens?

That's why you want an assault with a big engine! Like the Nightstar, one of it's variants comes stock with an XL380.

It's actually going to have one big drawback, and that's being at a lower engine max thanks to it's base 255 engine. So it'll be closer to a Stalker in speed but with jump jets.

thing is Stalkers basically have to run STDs. Because of it's peektastic nature, this guy could run a maxi XL. 310xl says 64 kph with 46 tons for guns, ecm and JJ, fast enough.

There will be no ghost heat by the time this mech is for cbills ... there will be energy draw. I doubt 4 PPCs would work.

The IS is pretty set on 85 tonners, but damn the Gunslinger is another one of my favorite dual gauss assaults. Plus dual guass also means dual AC10's, which I love running.
