Please, do name one light mech that can genuinely face tank an assault.
I was being facetious
I've had too many matches were I have pumped many rounds into cheetah (even when shut down or stuck in terrain) for them to run off in better condition from the exchange then my mech (usually a heavy). I know people say there is nothing wrong with the hit boxes but there is something funky about that mech.

Yeah it feels like we are living under a very bureaucratic and inefficient government. Except we have no power to vote the officials out.
In a government you are always included based on being a default community member that shares resources needed for the survival of the rest of the group.
This is a private entity that you are invited to play based on their rules. Your vote is the ability to leave at any given time and I am pretty sure that they made it known that if you do there is no compensation for money spent in game.

1) That's a Firestarter vs Jenner IIC, not Commando vs Oxide
2) I've beaten Oxides in my Commando 2D, that's why I issued the challenge

As if this game weren't already not so realistic, take the AC/20 Raven or a 2x ERPPC Wolfhound, it doesn't feel right. Hunchies with 9 laser hard points were you can't put more as 2 Lasers in some Atlases.
If it's me, the Cicada would be the smallest Mech.

That is more likely sure, since 3X SRM4 is less than 4X SRM4, so Oxide does have an edge, but the point I'm making it's far from OP like so many here claim it to be, Commando is 10 tons lighter and him putting up a fight just indicates that the Oxide isn't OP at all.

I agree that the IIC is fairly over the top too, tho not as much as the Oxide. Sadly it was brought in to give both sides an OP mech. Just because one side has the Oxide and one side had the IIC doesn't make things right tho. It's like seeing two kids having a fist fight then suddenly one pulls out a knife, and the adult's solution isn't to take the knife away and make them use boxing gloves, but rather hands the unarmed kid a knife also then starts eating popcorn. while the kids stab each other to death.
Welcome to PGI.
Well you could have gotten the "Victor" treatment where both kids got body slammed to the ground and then duck taped to a pole, beaten, and left there for all eternity!

Esactly what I did, along with Top dog and Grind iron.
Both of them before being nerfed.
Along with a lot of players playing cw and giving away MC events...in which EVERYBODY can partecipate.
But even explain that to "mwo p2w" qquers is useless, because they are blind

I've been piloting lights for a few weeks now and it's about the only thing I've been piloting so at this point I'd like to think my experience in them isn't completely newbish and useless. I own both Jenners and Arctic Cheetahs. What I notice using the Oxide is just how fragile it is. Yeah I've had some great matches with it and done some great damage - but I've done the same with the Arctic Cheetah. The Oxide lacks ECM which really hurts it's use for me because I feel like I'm always seen and targeted. On top of that a couple... Even ONE solid alpha from a heavy/assault could kill me or at the very least crit me.
I feel like the SRM's give the Oxide some balance in the way of damage when taking it's weaknesses into consideration. And I'll be the first to say I prefer my Cheetahs over the Jenner.
On the flip side I completely understand why people think the Oxide is OP, but more from a light user's standpoint. I get hit one time from an SRM Jenner in my ACH and my "health" is dropped right around 15%. That is massive friggin damage from a light to light and it's not like I'm running around in a weak Raven or Locust. It's a good sized light with what I consider decent armor - to which my ACH is full.
But how many SRM Jenners are going to be out on the battlefield any given game? I do agree that there needs to be more situatiional awareness going on. Like I said, the Oxide doesn't have ECM so it's not a ghost running around. And again - it is rather weak. In order to run 4 SRM 4's on the Oxide either ammo or armor or a mix needs to be sacrificed.

Using one I think there is. The ACH is quite tanky, IMO.

On the other hand, if you're going to take it to the extreme of grind it out as hard as you can for trickles of MC to buy a hero, you're technically not p2w, but you're not exactly setting a good precedent by giving what is normally a pay only mech objectively higher stats than mechs that don't require real monies.
Are you going to justify it as "End game top tier equipment" then?

Didn't say OP. I said objectively superior in terms of stats.
As of right now, this is true for the Oxide's durability.
I could have said the same for the Huginn, or the glory days of the DRG 1N. Both were objectively superior mechs in one field, and their weakness was downplayed by those who likely ran them, which does not help the perception.

YEAH! Let's take away its quirks! Wait...
Uh...
Only way you can really nerf it it to take away missile hard points and that just means 3ASRM6 will be the new build. Less splat, way more accuracy.
What they should do is reduce the Missile CD and Missile heat quirks.
It's a Jenner, without JJs, so I'm fine with the extra agility and bonus structure it has - it just shouldn't also have 16+DPS while running relatively cool.
Or they can keep the high firepower, but remove the structure and agility so the mech doesn't stand up to as much firepower.

Please, why don't you assaults and heavies learn Situational Awareness on your mechs.
I know I'm wasting time even replying to you, but my own comp team's light pilots are the ones saying the mech needs nerfs.
Not our assaults, not our heavies, our light pilots.
This is because they are objective and not biased, like some posters...
