That is definitely higher than an Atlas. I'm waiting to see how it ends up in game before calling it garbage.

nah, im calling it now. unless it gets a star trek style shield to cover all that exposed area you gotta show just to fire

hmm, don't even know the quirks yet, hopefully the structure and agility quirks help it out, as XL may be a nightmare if no bueno structure quirks :/

The original art for the Cyclops has a "back pack" sort of. The angle on PGI's concept doesn't allow us a good look at it but one might possibly approximate the size of the thing when considering that one of the rear antenna stablizer cables is tied to the head and the other on the backpack.

Then again maybe PGI fixed them to both side torsos... it's hard to tell.

Again a cool redesign, although I'll have to put this in the "will get for c-bills" pile after spending an entirely unreasonable $75 on Phoenix Hawks.

I really appreciate the Battle Computer implementation, although I don't think it will make a huge difference in practice. I've been toying with extended sensor range on several 'mechs (BAP, sometimes also sensor range module for 1200 m range), and it only really comes into play on a handful of maps with lots of long sight lines. Granted the Cyclops will extend this ability to other mechs, and this will be useful in long-range combat on Polar and some CW maps to identify exposed components.

The most tangible benefit of long sensor range is c-bills. Those 3000 cb/Scouting rack up quick when you lock on everything before your team mates.

I'm eager to see what the cockpit will look like. Visibility should be awesome. I hope all the command gear will show somehow in the cockpit, maybe an additional console on one side.

Well, the hero variant is interesting.. 2xUAC5+2xAC5 + XL350-375 should be a faster Mauler clone, though missing the shield arms. Remains to be seen where the 2nd will mount, but on the face of it the mount locations should be similar to the Mauler, which isnt bad.

Tbh its a lot more interesting than i thought it would be (i thought if we got the ballistic in each ST variant it would have a low engine cap, because lore wise the dual gauss one comes with a 270). Im concerned about hitboxes with that exposed head and belly though.

Irony is I wanted this mech and now its here, not sure I like it lol, still the camo will get put on the hero.

Only one variant had the 'backpack'

first impression: WTF engineers? make a dome like cockpitglass, cover it with a weird FOV limiting cappy.

Still looks really nice.

This thing looks like it's going to have Dragon/Archer syndrome. The in game model may help (or hurt) it.

Agreed. I posted the new Cyclops on the Battletech forum and as I was doing it I thought...Hmm...That looks like an Archer side torso. This pic definitely confirms the similarities for me.
