BattleMechs can Customize Everything, where OmniMechs can only Change OmniPods,
This leaves OmniMechs at a severe disadvantage, as they have lots of Fixed Equipment,
for OmniMechs you Ether have it(Good Engine / Endo / Few Locked DHS), or you dont,
BattleMechs in MWO have Full Mech Factory Customization,
where as OmniMechs have been Limited to only Field Retro-Fit,
so the Good OmniMechs are Very Good and the Bad are Bad,
=Making OmniPods Ambidextrous=
so i Looking at how OmniPods Behaved in Lore and TT,
in Lore OmniMechs could Equip An Omnipod to any location in an OmniMech,
Left Arm OmniPods could be placed on the Right and Right Arm Pods on the Left,
This is because OmniPods Originally Didnt have a Left / Right Notation,
I feel PGI Should removing this Left / Right Notation & make all OmniPods Ambidextrous,
As they Can be Placed on Ether Side, i feel this change would open up many more Options,
Allowing Players to Have more Options with their OmniMechs without too Much Trouble,
(remember pods with Bonuses / Penalties will Stack as per Balance),
This New way of looking at Pods in more of a Configuration light,
for instance an NVA-D, Arms would just be (NVA-D 1B)&(NVA-D 1M)
with the Right and Left OmniPod Distinctions Being removed altogether,
(so ADR-Prime Arms(PPC) would just appear as 1 Entry(ADR-Prime 1E)
=Examples=
MLX-A RA(1E-2B)(for the LA)(+2B)
KFX-C LA(2E-2B)(for the RA)(+2B)
IFR-C LT(1M)(for the RT)(+1M)
SHC-Prime RT(1E)(for the LT)(+1E)
SHC-A RT(1M)(for the LT)(+1M)
SHC-P LA(3B)(for the RA)(+2B)
SHC-P LT(3B)(for the RT)(+3B)
NVA-C LT(1M)(for the RT)(+1M)
NVA-D RA(1M)(for the LA)(+1M)
SCR-D LT(2M)(for the RT)(+1M)
MDD-B RA(3E)(for the LA)(+1E)
HBR-A LA(2E)(for the RA)(+1E)
EBJ-A RT(1B)(for the LT)(+1B)
SMN-Prime LT(1M)(for the RT)(+1M)
TBR-Prime LT(1E-1M)(for the RT)(+1E)
TBR-Prime RT(1B-1M)(for the LT)(+1B)
GAR-C RA(6E)(for the LA)(+2E)
WHK-A LA(2E-1M)(for the RA)(+1M)
WHK-B LA(1E-1B)(for the RA)(+1E)
WHK-B RA(3E)(for the LA)(+1E)
EXE-D RT(2E)(for the LA)(+1E)
DWF-A LT(2M)(for the RT)(+2M)
=Key Rules For Balance=
These are Rules Set in place to Balance Some Combinations,
Combinations that May be Too Powerful together,
=Locked Equipment Balance Notes=
OmniMechs that have Locked Equipment will still have Said Locked Equipment,
as the Equipment is Locked to the Chassis not the Pods them Selves,
(This includes the KFX-LT(2DHS) WHK-LT(4DHS) & DWF-LL(1DHS)
=ECM Balance Notes=
OmniMechs may only Ever Equip 1 ECM Enabled OmniPod,
this should fix any problems with having x2ECM on an OmniMech,
(This includes the Problematic, KFX-C-RA and HBR-Prime-LT)
=Quirked Balance Notes=
for Balance OmniMechs that Have Nagative Quirks on some pods are Stuck with them,
if they Double up on those Pods, they will also Double up on the Nagative Quirks,
(This includes the Problematic, TBR-A-LT(3Energy) that keeps Comming up),
=Ambidextrous Omni Challenge=
Combinations would you Put Together if Pods were Made Ambidextrous?
how would you Build your Ambidextrous Mech? what would it be?
Post the Builds you would make!

-
i personally would kill for:
WHK-B RA(3E)(for the LA)(+1E)!(7MPL WHK)!

NVA-C LT(1M)(for the RT)(+1M)!(2SRM6 NVA)!

KFX-C LA(2E-2B)(for the RA)(+2B)!(6MGs KFX)!

i do feel this could help some mechs with some new options,
and an extra Hard-Point wouldnt really change balance in most cases,
its easy to implement and Lore Friendly so should it happen?
Thoughts, Comments, Concerns?
Thanks
Would you Support,
Ambidextrous OmniPods?
(VOTE!)
(RESULTS!)
P.S.
Because i know Someone will Bring up the TBR-A LT,
yes a TBR could have 6 High Mounted Energy, i am aware of this,
All PGI would have to do is Increase the Negative Turn Angle Quirk just abit to Fix this,
(With -10%TurnAngle, -20% with Both Pods, A TBR with Both would have 70*TurnAngle)
(just 10*TurnAngle More than a DWF, i think this would Balanced Out 6 High Mounts)
Edit- Balance Pods Added,
Edit2- Reworded Topic Abit,
Edit3- Expanded Use & Balance,
Edit4- Added Mirrored Omni Challenge,
Edit5- Topic Rewritten and Refined,
Edit6- ECM-Pod Balance Notation,
Edit7- Partial Rewrite,
