I don't get the hate for my comment. No, there's little point in releasing mechs that are ******* uselessly underpowered because 'LOL IT'S MY FAVOURITE MECH' or 'LOL IT'S BATTLETECH NOOB'. I repeat: this is an arena shooter, not an RPG.
And to those of you saying 'well I wish it was an RPG'; what makes you think I disagree with that statement? I love RPGs. I've pre-ordered the new Battletech game.
When I say that MWO is an arena shooter I'm merely wishing to illuminate the current situation. It is not ok to have **** mechs on either IS or Clan rosters. Every mech should be viable. Whether that's achieved by power quirks or role warfare makes no difference to me, but
each mech should be viable in some way. (As an example, look at what happened with the Locust - **** mech, but with power quirks, incredibly good mech - well, the 1E is anyway)
And I don't mean 'the best player in the game can do 'ok' with it so it's viable', viable.
To be clear, I have no problem at all with the Viper being released: I just take issue with people saying that it's fine if it's a **** mech because 'not all mechs need to be meta'. Of course not all mechs need to be 'meta' because meta is something that is constantly shifting, but all mechs need to be viable.
