Hmmm, the side torso's can't fit a gauss and w/o quirks it will be very sluggish for a heavy. The torso hard points are high and it should be able to spread damage well if it gets any quirks to torso twisting and ok w/o quirks. It can pack a good deal of firepower which will offset it's speed. Definitely will be a high value target on the field. Looks to be very solid, I hope PGI can pull off the glowing heat sinks - that would be very nice to see.

Has there been any new information on whether or not the mech will glow, due to it's laser heatsinks?

Got one question, probably asked already many times before:
If i'm gonna buy just the standard pack, will i be able to buy the omnipods of the Variants (C, D or also the jadekit)?

IIRC, no, only when they will be released for C-Bills.

Correct.
It's a bit of a toss up what they'll do with the Hero mech omnipods at the moment though. The Viper is the first clan mech with a Hero, and it hasn't dropped for c-bills yet. The hero mech omnipods may not be purchasable for C-bills ever. You might have to buy the hero mech, and if you want more than one Hero omnipod, you might have to buy another.
Unless they've upgraded the store, which I somewhat doubt, they don't have a system in place for segregating what's available in the store on an individual basis. This has been evidenced in past clan mechpacks, when people who had the 4th variant could not buy more omnipods from it until it went to C-bills. So, even if you buy the hero mech, they can't use already owning the hero mech to unlock the ability to purchase more omnipods for C-bills. What's available for one is available for all, right now.
So, the question becomes, will they release the Hero mech omnipods for Cbill purchase? I kind of doubt it, and I wouldn't begrudge them that, either. Maybe, if we're lucky, they'll sell the omnipods for a small MC price.

Typically for hero mechs, while may have unique loadouts/hardpoints, the only special thing about them (sometimes the only redeemable thing about them) is the 30% cbill bonus. If that is the case, then an argument could be made for the omnipods being sold for cbills.

Oh, it's possible... I just consider it unlikely... Afterall, if I can buy all the omnipods for the Hero mech for C-bills, why would I buy the hero mech? If I want the 30% Cbill boost, I could get the collector's pack, and load the Hero pods onto the S. Unless the hero mechs have something unique in their C torso of course, or i really like the paint on it... It's logical to expect them to section off the Hero omnipods. It's not a certain thing, but I'd rate that as the most likely.
It's all speculation and conjecture. But keeping this in mind will lead to less disappointment if it comes to pass And pleasant surprise if it doesn't.

If they put quirks on the ct as they have with others, the hero could be sufficiently unique and perhaps "special" so that the other pods on it may compliment its quirks without being entirely "special" themselves...
You're right, its all conjecture, but since pgi tries to avoid accusations of p2w, it will either mean the hero is less than competetive (like so many, many other heroes) or they make it almost a non-issue by making anything that makes the hero remotely desirable (omnipods) available so that again, the only good thing about it is the 30% cbill bonus.
But, yes it could go either way...
