Yeah, thats why my preferred loadout on the KDK-3 is wavering between 4xUAC5+2xLPL and 2xUAC5, 2xUAC10, TCV - i dont like vanilla UAC10s, projectile speed makes them very hard to use against moving targets at any kind of range.

Except Gauss.
Yeah, now we have Clan Battlemechs, better C-Gauss can't be a balance mechanism for locked Clan internals.. IMO IS Gauss should have its HP increased from 3 to 10, so its not quite as prone to blowing up as the clan one... better shielding for more tonnage?

So to update, last night in group drops, all I seemed to see were waves of 4UAC10 Kodiaks laying waste. Still am not willing to say its OP, but I must admit trying to go up against them in Maulers* was not a winning proposition most of the time (edit: we won 1 out of 7); so I am not so sure about that particular asserted equivalence that some have bandied about. Will try Atlas tonight and see how that fares. But based on last nights half dozen drops or so Kodiak is better than Mauler far more often than not.
*Most Maulers running AC20 and UAC5 builds, with some folks supplementing with a few lasers and SRMs. But vast majority of engagements we were dropping ballistics Maulers with mixed lights and mediums for tonnage balance.

Seriously, though, it isn't much better or worse in any regard than other tier 1/2 assaults. The Stalker still runs cooler with more large lasers, the Mauler's FLD DPS isn't any less impressive now, etc.
I will say that I haven't run a quad UAC10 Kodiak 3 yet, though. I ran it with the 400XL, quad UAC5s, and medium lasers last night and thought it was decent. I ran the Kodiak 1 with what is sure to become the meta: 2LPL and 5MPL (adding that 6th MPL makes it a little too hot). I ran the Spirit Bear near stock. Good impressions overall, but nothing I'd call terribly OP.
Definately not OP at all. Kodiaks are all to easy to core out with a centre torso that's bigger than Elvis.

The KDK-3 is instantly one of the top five assault mech chassis in the game, with an argument for Number One position.
The Spirit Bear, of course, is more comparable to an Atlas. It will have its occasional place in FW drop decks built around fast brawling pushes, e.g., on Emerald Taiga.
As all know, MercStar almost never drops Dire Wolfs or Atlases. It will drop Kodiaks, and often, I think.

if they are going to ballance eatch weapon is vs clans there will be a load more witch need attention.. clan mg, clan spl's clan srm's ... if at all posible i would like it more if they balance them as a hole so both sides keep there flavor (at the moment i think ballance between clan and is is quite good) (between chassi's not so much do)

FTFY, lol. If it was 100% lighter it would weigh 0 tons. You could say the IS version is 100% heavier.
but no one cares about MGs, they suck

It's quite simple.
Clan tech. All IS players know Clan tech is OP and haz to be nurfed all teh time or teh world ends.
But in all seriousness. It's caused a massive temper tantrum because Clans have a Assualt that's good.
