Is Metamechs a joke now? They ranked this loadout as a Tier 1 build?

You are basically saying you have no clue what a current meta brawl build actually looks like.

The flamers could also be SPLs, but shutting down an energy mech before you hammer it with SRMs is a commonly used tactic in competitive match brawls.

it's totally amazing man.

like I get the KDK has a big CT but folks are like IM GETTING CT CORED EVERY MATCH which is code for "boy I am bad at this game but I've spent so much time on it that admitting that would be psychologically devastating"

same dudes who complain about laservomit. It's still a thing but so is brawling and dakka now

Can confirm. So much face tanking. My 2xPPC, 2xUAC5 Whammy and 4xUAC5 Mauler are loving life right now.

Also, 72 Splat Jenny and touching bear butt...

Pun intended :P

srsly, the IIC and the srmies are so much fun right now, you got 8 kodiaks facing the enemy and you just wander around and hit them in de diaper, I have not had as much fun in a light since the Jenner F was king.

I get CT cored almost every match. It's how many of them I take with me first, that varies.

(Transnational, the CT is honking huge, and if you die, it will almost certainly be by CT death, but it's a pretty sweet damage dealer with good mobility, so barring really bad positioning, you ought to be taking several guests with you to Valhalla)

Right, see, that's a totally reasonable thing to say. It does have a big CT but a lot of these dudes pretend like it doesn't have crazy firepower/mobility

MWO WC can't start soon enough. Can't wait to see all the scrub teams running 2 ACH, 2 SCR, 2 TBR, 2 KDK decks.

Experienced comp teams be like:

Oh it does. And if it had IS SRMs and ACs, I would likely call it broke. With Clan Weapons, it's not that easy to focus, comparably, so I consider it very strong. I have yet to see the 3 being "broken" though, as some claim in the other direction. It does have some very strong IS counters.

It's a great offensive mech with an Achilles heel. I'm OK with that, just as I have been with the Glass Cannon nature of the HBK-IIC.

0-270m: AS7-S (Wubshee, BLR-2 and BH seem to work too)
600+m: MAL-MX90
0-50m: JR-IIC or Oxide (and seen some ACH and even Embers play merry Hob with them... Flamers do ruin KDKs day!)

BAHAHHAHA flamers.

Sorry anyone putting flamers on a mech, and then any community that then votes it the best mech the best in the game... has zero credibility.

This statement gives you zero credibility. Flamers were buffed and made useful months ago. They're a solid weapon for short range builds with heat to spare.

Guys I get that a lot of you can't or don't care enough to keep up with all the game rebalancing. There are lots of games I have played where I'm super casual and just do whatever feels good. However I don't go onto those forums and make fun of the guys who do have a pretty good understanding of the state of the game. Especially someone like Gman who spends a lot of time providing high quality guides and resources to the community for free. If I did that, I'd probably just wind up looking like an uninformed idiot.

Haven't tried those. I've been running nothing but SRMs, Dakka, and PPCs lately. It's been cathartic.

You can add the Poptart Summoner and WHM-6R to the 600+m bracket as well. And I've had great success at 0-270m with my HBK-4P.

pretty sure my 4G will hunt em OK too, though with caution. They are a lot more dangerous to a Medium Hunter than a DWF!

No kidding, I got Drop Beared on Viridian two nights ago while in my HBK-4P. It went poorly.

EDIT:

Dear Lord, why am I punning so much today?!

The forums are always months behind meta changes.

To recap. LASER VOMIT IS NOT SOLELY DOMINANT. It hadn't been since december. A lot of people still run it because they don't know better or haven't changed yet. Brawl has been strong since december, and more recently dakka is reaching the same level.

The best Assaults pre Kodiak were the Atlas, mauler, and banshee. Reflecting brawl, dakka, and laser vomit respectively.

Stuff like flamers are now almost mandatory for low heat brawl builds. Every brawl griffin should run flamers now.

Even lights have changed drastically. The Cheetah is not the top light anymore albeit still good for niche uses. It loses in combat compared to numerous other lights though from wolfhounds and spider 5ks to Jenners and Jenner iics.

it's like ... when scouting mode came out, you had a lot of folks on the forums and in-game screaming about how Streakcrows were going to absolutely ruin IS dropdecks, because how could a Griffin or a Shadow Hawk or a Hunchback compete with the almighty Streakcrow?

And meanwhile everyone who knew better was busy blowing the legs off Streakcrows while they tried to chew through a Hunchback-4SP and its million HP.

Folks gotta remember that just because something was good (or bad!) once doesn't mean it'll always be so. You mentioned the SDR-5K -- they went from being safely ignorable to little terrors, and it was quite drastic.

Everytime i go into meta mechs i find their builds terribly underarmed, underarmored or just straight up weird.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a1dd02b12ac23dc
This is their kdk3

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a47f31931a2b403
This is what i run.

Dropped 2 tons of ammo since i rarely have a chance to dispose of 600 rounds and unless someone presents me at least 5 close to 2000 dmg matches ill say its impossible to expend it all if you aim well.
Dropped engine to 350, 5kph wont be that much of a problem and added 4 mlas for backup if they jam or against agile lights also put armor on arms so you can use them as shields when you feel the need to do so.
