Russ would just say ... see, I was right. Y'all are just living on an island and CW, errr FW, errr FP is evidently not the target audience PGI is looking for. However, we PGI is looking forward to seeing you at Mechcon. Why are all of y'all carrying torches and pitchforks?

FP sucks cause PGI doesn't listen to player feedback, look wonderful things happen when you listen to players. Look at Final Fantasy 14 as a example, when it launched it was a disaster, Square Enix ask the players "whats wrong?" and they went to work fixing it, re-launched it as a "realm reborn" and now it's a good quality AAA MMORPG....

Why can't PGI do the same and re-launch FP?

listening to players is a mixed bag but they should always sift through feedback when they can.....right?

Why listen when you can ask, 'please buy a mech pack'. So much simpler and easier.

At this point it really just comes down to product life cycle, slow as molasses development, and mistakes upon mistakes.

CW is just such an ambitious project if you think about it. What can I say?.....at least they tried?

I don't think its entirely because of PGI missing the mark on phase 3. Some people are just plain burned out just from the unaltered combat in phase 2 (save for 4v4).

So yeah, people were already burned out on CW phase 2 with a prolonged wait for phase 3 which didnt really reinvigorate it. If you played phase 2 until your face melted, phase 3 isnt going to do much for you.

I still got tons of playtime out of it despite its incomplete nature. Hell im like rank 10+ in 6 factions and rank 19 in wolf. I played the **** out of it and many played more than I did.

This. Played a hell of a lot of matches, had fun for a good while, then became mind numbingly bored. The last event completely burned me out and haven't played mwo since. Maybe I'll feel like playing again after a good break.

Or if they add some serious content.

"All you had to do to kill large units": Is allow [NKVA] back into the forums.

/wink

Serious though: Nothing but love for my [NKVA] brothers. I expect the forums to be more interesting / fun, even if Faction Warfare isn't looking so hot. So, thanks to you guys, I've got that going for me....which is nice.

We're still laughing and slapping.

As far as I know, nobody in our unit is banned, or has been banned. There's just nothing interesting to talk about here.

I think what really killed Invasion game play is that clan mechs suck at it. When the FP event started my unit was contracted to clan wolf. I was at like less than 10% wins solo dropping with clans in Invasion. I was running 3 x srm+spl tbrs. We'd routinely lose matches on the first or second wave. If we were attacking we'd get wiped out without touching a generator, or just get clobbered on counter attack. I was TRYING really hard, would routinely get 6-8 kills, and hit over 2k dmg, and our team would still lose. I was seeing majority of players with 100-500 dmg.

Then our contract expired and we switched to FRR. I won 9/10 matches when I was IS. Only ever lost to a 12-man Clan Drop([evil]) and we still managed to put up a fight. If we were even marginally organized then the IS team would always win, and we'd routinely stomp the clan teams.

The game is balanced around QP not invasions, and the clans can't compete with their super hot long range builds. The only clan builds that compete are the Ballistics brawlers, and they have their own problems. Nothing compared to a Black knight. The game is too much in favor of QP, and it makes invasions totally unbalanced. **** like the Oxide Generator rushes on vitric.

Clan mechs are badass and are way better than Inner Sphere mechs with the dropdeck tonnage being so close.

It's not the mech's fault that you guys run splat builds on maps that are bad for them and don't push well as a group

FRR has one of, if not THE BEST, Faction Level Leadership in the game. I am not at all shocked that you found a good home there. Teams that have good leadership can compete with the best of the best, even with 'less trained / skilled' but are willing to listen / follow good leaders.

So, our unit has some stone cold killers, best of the best IMHO. I challenged one of these stone cold killers to break 5K damage in a CW match (it was still Community Warfare back then), and a few days latter he tells me he hit 4,986 then I ask him, "Did you win the match?"....his answer, 'nope'.

What is the point?

Teamwork / Training trumps Raw Skill / Talent. The first step to winning consistently, not matter how GREAT you are as pilot, is finding, joining, training with a TEAM. The point is 4.9K in a match STILL isn't enough to carry 'solo' players, and that it takes a TEAM to have any HOPE of winning in Faction Warfare.

of course MS is mad. Their entire strategy from the first CW beta is to zerg planets with their 500 plus population and win via ghost drops. They were never really elite, which is why they have the lowest Win/Lose ratio out of the top five units with a 2.92...compared to a 9.0 of KCOM or the 3.47 of IBR or EVIL's 5.52.

So PGI takes away their two attack lanes and their chances to zerg and now they QQ cause they have to actually win a planet without mass ghost dropping,. LOL good move PGI

I mean... you ARE asking this question in a thread full of people not understanding any OTHER coding decision PGI makes. Just saying...
