Why does the chart drop off and fluctuate after mid-March? It wasn't that controversial a patch...

http://mwomercs.com/...59-15-mar-2016/

I know after that came the flamer hotfix. Am I missing or forgetting something?

It looks like the chart is produced by taking something like monthly average data before 3 months and daily data after that. If you move your mouse along the plot you will see that the smooth part only has something like 3 or 4 discrete points connected by lines which eliminates all the daily variation.

i think it's just the summer.

That's a big part of it too. Summer is notoriously a slow time for games.

Who would have known that us geeks actually leave our houses when the weather gets warm ;)

Yup. That statement and the corresponding attitude is I think the biggest problem facing this game. I'm totally not kidding. I think that attitude mixed with the "you should be thanking me for making this game" really turned a lot of people off. I mean it continues to be cited by plenty on these forums for why one's "wallet is closed". I wonder how many long time players took it as a 'final straw' and just left?

A company pres. telling its customer base that their input is not needed would be bad enough, but telling a community who has an actual record of giving PGI the feedback necessary to fix their screw-ups is beyond stupid.

Remember when the flammer "fix" first came out? Russ: "working as intended, etc." It took the community raising hell to get the fix, fixed.
P3 release? Russ: "totally bug free". So, how about that drop deck reset function? I wonder who identified that little "feature" (obviously not a bug). Pretty sure it was the community members. Why was the long tom damage reduced? Random decision or did community feed back have something to do with that?
How about the upcoming Rescale of the mechs?...I guess were getting that because it was a priority for Russ for the last 4 years (I think he even said something like that on twitter). Community had no influence on this at all? I think not.

These are just some recent examples where you can search the forums or twitter and show that this community has the drive to try and help the devs make the game as good as it can be. That the community really does want to help and has shown that it can and does. Yet, we are told our views and input are not needed because PGI knows better.

If PGI knows better why does the community keep having to help them fix the f-ups in their game? (see above for recent examples).

Working as intended indeed.

I love the MechWarrior world, I have the ability to creating maps.
I did it on Crysis which uses the same graphics engine.
Please let us make us the maps.

Here's something a little more relevant and contextual...

http://steamspy.com/app/342200

Most important numbers in my mind:

Playtime in the last 2 weeks: 08:05 (average) 01:20 (median)
Playtime total: 14:59 (average) 00:45 (median)

If the total playtime median is under an hour, that means the majority of players just try it out and don't pick it up. Game is hard; hard to get new players. But once you get players, they tend to put a lot of time into it.

That's about it.

and LOL, it's tagged with "zombies"???

Zombie 'mechs i guess...

Then... no thanks, I have no reason to own more mechs than the 160+ I already own, no added value.

Not giving you reasons to spend your money is about the dumbest thing a company can do.

Pgi loves to piss off their own playerbase by introducing
1) auto-rekt in cw (long tom)
2) lame tag changing system in fp and too many cease fires( planets stolen when you sleep)
3) terribad map design (new forest, vitric, therra)
4) lame quirk assignment: IS laser vomit Op
5) ZERO CHEATING CONTROL: you ban teams from tournment for PRIVATE MESSAGE ON FACEBOOK AGAINST A NON PARTICIPANT (thus, not a code violation), but scrubs come out of nowere with aimbots and than vanish.
6) No TUTORIAL for noobs on how to use that super complicated cw interface that is everything but user friendly.
7) no depth in upgrading defenses on your own planet.

I agree.

Wow, looks like the Brazillian community finally got to this game. Sad!

If anyone is looking for a game to play, Battleborn has nowhere to go but up, and it should be free to play any day now. It's like mechwarrior, but the pilot is a penguin instead of a human. Did someone say epic?

The very true sad thing is that a real truly skilled pilot is been banned because of you.

So... STFU.

Not a partecipant nor a referee nor an administrator nor a PGI employer.

They should specify "be nice with random people".

another reason people are getting tired is bec in tier 3 and up there are people using targeting hacks and aim bots to cheat and nothing is being done about it. I quit bothering to try and report it bec it does nothing and the cheater faces no punishment. The two most common cheats i have seen is a targeting hack which allows the shooter to hit a torso and get instant critical hits even though you have good armor still on that torso(not even yellow yet) and also aim bots which allows perfect hits every time their weapon recharges no matter the range,.. The two lessor hacks i have seen are a energy shield that prevents damage from all weapons and also a teleport that gets a person to a different grid square instantaneously.

Exactly.
Apart from those ones wanting all the pokemons.... there are too few goals in mwo and a lot of players got bored.
Mwo, in a word, needs: content.

Years suggesting this...but ...see what pgi ceo had to say about suggestions.
