Then the MLX needs the same. It's got even worse problems.

Enjoy it while you can. I made tier 2 in 4 months and 5 days with less than ten posts on ForumWarriorOnline.com. Just sayin...

I've been back for 2 months and my account is 4 years old. I posted a ton on here during Closed Beta/initial release. Sorry for loving to read?

Yeah trying to work this light challenge has shown me how bad the mechs like the Panther are. I absolutely cannot brawl in it any more*, it is just to big and fragile... I "understand" the notion that "size should be based volume" but i really don't think that is remotely close to what has happened, and it does not account for other aspects of how the mech works, or doesn't work (If the 2nd E hard point wasn't UNDER the arm it would go a long way... shooting my PPC's at crotch height REALLY limits weapon utility. What is worse if you have the model for a side mount already on the 9R and 8Z, why not go under, side, side, under for E slot placement)

As soon as the event is done, I'm shipping back up to my nice, petite mediums again...

*The 10k can still do some good work, but even then half of it requires that you stay at ranges that are at least in the long bracket, if not extra long.

Agreed. I'm hoping PGI uses the metrics from this lights event to determine what light mechs require buffs. The panther was my favourite mech and now it's absolute garbage... THE worst mech in my stable. Leave it to pgi....

I personally haven't bothered to log in since the spider rescale because it's a walking coffin now. Due to various rescale blunders, nerfs, and other general BS over 2 dozen regular clan members have all but quit MWO and gone to The Division/Robocraft until they sort out this mess. /feedback

While I dont much like Lights after the rescale, I find it amusing your clanmates left MWO for a game people can run up on, and kill you, in less than 2 seconds (The Division). Ironic, even.

not even talking about the amount of cheaters the divison has.

It's like somone got pooped on his shirt by a bird, takes it off in disgust just to jump into a giant pool of pig poo.

Dude, you're seriously top 10 PNT pilot! What are you running?

Also having committed something like 3 days to the Panther, again, I cannot find any builds that work, outside of 2 PPC 10k. Otherwise... Way too tall, too easy to spot for it's speed and tank :/

I'm running the 9R with 1large 3medium, 1jet, max engine. It feels great when you alpha it but other than that it has too little going for it. So many downsides, let me count the ways:

1. clunkiest light mech out there (as far as turn rate, speed)
2. all weapons on one arm making it very vulnerable (i'm sure as hell not gonna try to make it a brawler with srms in the ct).
3. it shoots hella low
4. 1 jet hardly cuts it but sacrificing engine size, heatsinks for more jets just not worth it
5. one of the taller lights out there

Before the nerf my dmg was double what it is now, but dmg aside, it's just not a fun mech to pilot anymore.

So wait, if I Smurfy'ed that right, Max Standard Engine!? You run it with a STD! I might have new hero... I can hardly maintain just under 50 on the list maxing my weapon loads, but you're over here rocking with a solid 5t 'deficit' in weapons and in the top 10 o_o

I guess I sound a bit jaded but compared to all the miss-steps they've made along this looong and bumpy road, what they did to my lights was simply beyond the pale. It showed me their priorities aren't straight, they have no clear direction for the game and they make decisions based on false premises. My warrior spirit truly has been broken...

You know there's a very easy fix for tall light mechs. Get PGI to remodel them with everything fatter and they will become shorter.

The Commando is short because he has a fat body and fat arm snd legs, like a teddy bear. Panthers and Wolhounds are tall because they have sleek arms and legs, a tight little six pack, and very shallow depth.

Remodelling is the real answer not quirking.

I caved in by a third regarding points and damage by sticking to playing mostly my lights (mainly Wolfhound, some Raven and Locust). Actually the Locust averaged out the even bigger loss by my Wolfhound. I ended up dropping from 20% into Tier3 back to Tier4 just recently, before I had to finally abandon Lights practically altogether to get back up.

The event that PGI organised to push the Lights kinda felt desperate and compared to the MediumMech event, where loads of Mediums were actually played (even chassis you practically never see like Kintaros etc.), the participance of Lights was, to put it mildly, overseeable.

A crazy idea just popped into my head. First, lets up the revenue for games regarding c-bills. Let everybody win a bit more. You guessed right, there is a "but" in there: You would have to pay a salvage/reconstruction fee to have your Mech back in your garage safe and sound and combat ready. The heavier, the bigger the fee. You could opt out and sit it out within a certain timeframe (also in relation to the size). So, using a Light can bring you back into the next battle for a nickel and a dime and in no time. Having an Assault? Big machine, big bill, big time!

See PGI to what desperate ideas mind is capable in the face of that rescale? Oh, the humanity!

If i could, i would have 'liked' your comment 10x more for sheer creativity.. you sound like a really cool, down to earth person and your idea is very interesting and warrants some thought on pgi's part.. way to think out of the box!

The panther, with 2 - 4 weapons in its right arm has a right arm that is s something like 1/3 it's volume. The rescale must not have taken into account the size the Panthers one arm balloons up to if you try to use its only mounts...

I realize that any time PGI ever posts (Tina) is met with severe hostility and an acidic additude, but please (please please please please) listen.

The rescale hurt the player base in the bad touch kind of way. Rollback the scale (sorry locusts, catapults and battle masters) and rethink this idea by at least 50%. Even if we are waiting a couple months, it might not hurt so bad. And use you're damn newsletter signup that I agreed to for something(!) so that a lot of players know about it! It will bring those that QQed back and maybe show you listen to us few-ish masses. We have all been touched in the bad place and want our reconciliation.

Cheers!

I just popped back into this game after not playing since before the official release. Noticed I was dying a lot more frequently in matches and I assumed I just had to get back into the game but I still kept dying very early in matches. I didn't even know about the rescale until I was Googling stuff and saw something mentioned about it. At least now I know why I kept dying so quickly. I used to play as a Jenner mostly but now I don't think I'm going to touch it if I even fire up the game again at all. Size disparity was something I always liked about all the different mechs but they seem to kind of all be more and more similar. Not many mech games to play but I think the whole theme kinda got squeezed out for me with how I approached and played this game before.
